Front-end Developer (FED)

This is a Front-end Developer (FED) development position for creating web interfaces integrated with a Content Management System using a component-based Design System. This role develops in front-end technologies (CSS2/3, HTML5/XHTML, DOM, JavaScript, JSP Tiles, etc.) used on AA.com. It is essential to have a flexible attitude and excellent communication skills. This person will work closely with the Enterprise Digital Content Platform team as well as business owners, product owners, business analysts, project managers, UX Leads, graphic designers, and tech leads using the Agile project methodology. This FED will be responsible for establishing and executing the User Experience Front End Technology vision using industry best practices and standards with re-usability and portability in mind.

Contribute to a culture of innovation and teamwork
Push the boundaries of what's possible to create better experiences for our users
Lead UI technical solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial explorations through final design deliverables such as screen layouts, user interface elements, and prototypes
Translate usability and field research findings into design/function improvements
Communicate technology strategy and rationale to key stakeholders and project member(s)
Collaborate with UI/UIX teams to develop cross-product solutions
Document AA.com front-end technology standards and procedures
Produce and deliver final assets using HTML5, CSS3, JSP, Angular and JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, etc.) web components
Work in an Agile team environment using two-week sprints for delivery of production quality code
Skill Sets Required:
Proficient in markup coding by hand, specifically HTML5 and/or XHTML 1.0
Proficient in CSS3, SASS/SCSS/LESS/COMPASS implementation and best practices
Proficient in JavaScript development and frameworks such as jQuery
Proficient in key Java technologies such as Java, Typescript, JSP, JSTL
Proficient in responsive web design understanding (css media queries)
Proficient in accessibility implementation using WGAC 2.0 and Section 508 standards
