Director-Sports Information
Nature of Work
The Director-Sports Information serves as the institutional representative to the media for all athletic activities, including the reporting on athletic events, teams and student-athletes. Will write original press releases and maintain a historical record of students and teams to be used by both the print and broadcast media during and after sporting events. Will serve as the primary liaison between the College Athletic Department and the news media, as well as serving as the primary communications agent for Bobcat Athletics. Will oversee the webpage, athletic social media outlets, and assist in coordinating game-day operations for all 15 varsity and five junior-varsity sports. Will also serve as the primary historian, statistician, and archivist for the department. May provide supervision to Graduate Assistant and department interns. This position is non-exempt with regard to FLSA overtime. This position is covered by the NSCPA negotiated agreement.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or a related field is required. Frequent evening/weekend work is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Sports Management degree strongly preferred. You should possess strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills and strong attention to detail. Should be able to successfully manage multiple projects, a team of employees and determine the best strategies to complete projects in a timely fashion.
