Position Summary
Web Content Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing engaging content for Hartford HealthCare's intranet and public-facing websites, ensuring alignment with brand and accessibility standards, and collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to deliver high-quality content.
Position Responsibilities
Content Creation and Curation:
Develop engaging, accurate text, images, and video for internal and public sites, following brand guidelines.
Website Content Updates:
Regularly update CMS-based content, optimize for SEO and user experience.
SEO Optimization and Performance Monitoring:
Apply SEO best practices, monitor analytics, and recommend improvements.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work with marketing, communications, and clinical teams; provide status updates.
Accessibility and Usability:
Ensure all content meets WCAG and user-centered design principles.
Vendor Oversight:
Manage external vendors to guarantee quality and timeliness.
Working Relationship
Reports to: Manager, Digital Strategy.
Qualifications
Education
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred: Additional training or certifications in digital marketing, content strategy, or UX design.
Experience
Minimum: 3 years of web content creation, management, and optimization; experience with CMS such as WordPress or Drupal.
Preferred: Healthcare industry experience; responsive web design; mobile-first principles.
Language Skills
Strong command of English; ability to write and edit Spanish (preferred).
Skills & Abilities
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading.
Solid understanding of SEO and analytics tools like Google Analytics.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic web design principles.
Knowledge of WCAG accessibility guidelines.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred: Content personalization, video editing, Google Analytics certification, project management tools, user research methodologies.
