What You Will Do
Lead a high‑performing team of communications professionals
Consult with senior leaders and managers on messaging and communication techniques and create positive interpersonal relationships to enhance the ability to influence tactics and strategies
Develop strategic communication plans and content in support of driving SPPD’s execution of our business strategy
Develop, edit, review and approve internal and external communications
Drive continuous improvement for communication support and processes
Coach staff involved in any communication events or presentations
Deliverables include communications strategies and plans, key messages, presentations for internal and external audiences, video scripts, internal articles, meeting execution including prep, agenda development, logistics and content, LinkedIn posts
What You Will Have (Basic Skills Required)
Effective Communications:
Ability to communicate in a variety of mediums both traditional (writing, presentations, etc.) and contemporary (visuals, video, etc.)
Agility:
Ability to be agile and adjust approach/strategy based on ever‑developing business needs
Communicating Complex Concepts/Effective Storytelling:
Ability to tell compelling stories through a variety of mediums
Coaching and Counseling:
Ability to effectively coach and counsel division leaders and employees on how to form and convey compelling narratives through a variety of mediums (presentation and story development, etc.)
Build and Leverage Interpersonal Relationships:
Ability to build trust with leadership and employees; use emotional intelligence to impact decisions and initiatives; collaborate and partner with all levels of the organization to work toward a common goal
Expertise in Copywriting, Editing, & Visual Communication Technology:
Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) knowledge of video production and storytelling
Influencing:
Ability to coach and counsel leaders on effective communications tactics and strategies; impact decisions within and outside own organization; advise on techniques to build rapport and commitment to common purpose
Preferred Skills
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field, or equivalent on‑the‑job experience
Ability to create and tell stories through visual mediums (graphic design, video, etc.)
Experience delivering strategies and communications that effectively support change initiatives and alignment to organizational/business goals
Experience as a strategic communications advisor to C‑level executives, including writing communications and developing presentations
A proven ability to thrive within a complex, matrixed environment

The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL
The secondary location for this position is Irving, TX
Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify
Sponsorship is not available
Must be able to travel up to 5% (Domestic)
Candidates must be able to provide samples of work (writing, graphic design, video, etc.)
Summary Pay Range
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
