Legal Content Editor
Role Summary:

In this role you will provide legal interpretation in the form of identification and analysis of the interrelationship between decisions of different courts and agencies to support the development and maintenance of Thomson Reuters Legal information, in particular, its KeyCite citator. Members of this team are also tasked with ensuring that published legal information contains and delivers premium content.

About the Role
In this opportunity as a Legal Content Editor your responsibilities will include:

Identify key issues in editorial materials and the relationships among and between editorial materials as required.

Direct the integration of legal content into repository; create captions, historical notes and other contextual materials as required.

May create information that provides additional context to editorial materials such as assigning judges, parties and roles within and between trial documents, or identifying and adding research references.

Summarize basic content types, as required.

Allocate information in the form of headnotes, historical notes, headings, analysis, indexes, highlights and other text to an existing scheme or taxonomy, as required.

Identify, determine and resolve direct and indirect case history relationships, as required.

Adhere to editorial publishing schedules and quality standards.

Verify own work for accuracy and completeness, and ensure that the information is properly presented and organized.

Attend and participate in meetings as requested or required.

Develop understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each collaborator and team member and how each role impacts production.

About You

A bachelor's degree, or have completed an approved paralegal certificate.

A self-starter with aptitude for legal research.

Capable of balancing solitary day-to-day work with team needs and guidelines.

An analytical thinker who uses logic and collaborates to solve difficult problems.

Decisive with a focus on making quality decisions quickly.

The ability to interpret, analyze and organize complex legal material.

Comfortable with personal computers and familiar with word processing and online applications.

The ability to prioritize tasks and projects and pursue them with energy and drive.

A great teammate who will work successfully in a shared environment.

Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Strong communication skills and can speak and write clearly and effectively with all contacts, both in and outside Thomson Reuters.

Demonstrate strong technical skills and the ability to effectively utilize various tools, including generative AI technologies, to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Adapt to diverse projects and tasks within the generative AI space as well as new and emerging technologies.

Compensation & Eligibility
Eligible office locations for this role include New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington DC. The base compensation range for the role in those locations is 54,800 USD – 101,800 USD. For other US locations it is 47,600 USD – 88,400 USD. For Ontario, Canada it is 46,200 CAD – 85,800 CAD. Where applicable, the role may also be eligible for an annual bonus based on performance.
