For appointment to Graphic Designer 1, you must have:
Four years of experience conceptualizing, designing, and creating graphics to communicate messages for educational, commercial, or promotional purposes in print and electronic media.
Education Substitution:
An associate degree may substitute for two years of experience listed above
A bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience listed above
A master's degree may substitute for five years of experience listed above
A doctorate may substitute for six years of experience listed above

Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
For appointment to Graphic Designer 1, you must have:
• Bachelor's degree in an art or design field such as art, drawing, painting, illustration, digital design, or interactive media;
OR
• Associate's degree in the same field
AND
Two (2) years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Organized and able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Computer/Software Proficiency and keyboarding/typing skills- Adobe Creative Suit, Microsoft Word and mail/merges in Microsoft Excel, and desire to learn new software as needed.
Experience creating fillable forms in Microsoft Word and/or Adobe Acrobat.
Experience mounting posters, using laminating equipment a plus.
Diplomacy and good communication skills.
Dependable-realize it is a small unit that must always be staffed.
Ability to lead others within the unit would be preferred but not requirement.

Telecommuting
