Job Summary
The Monitor Tech provides support services, including basic computer keyboarding skills, tearing down and assembling patient charts as appropriate, calling other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures, and stocking supplies. The monitor tech is responsible for monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs, following set algorithm parameters that may raise alarms, and interpreting alarms with appropriate communication. Depending on location, the monitor tech may also provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients, summoning the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance, and following set algorithms to interpret alarming events.

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED is required.

Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies is preferred.
