Summary of Position:
Responsible for the development and execution of the Cher‑Ae Heights Casino Marketing plan, Guest Relation strategies and programs within the Marketing Department and its sub‑departments of Player’s Club/Gift Shop, Player Development, Executive Casino Hosts, Entertainment and Events, Graphic Design, Advertising and Social Media by performing the following duties personally or through department supervisors and leads.
Responsibilities:
Establish, execute, monitor, and adjust strategic marketing plans, both short and long range, to achieve Casino objectives regarding revenue, profitability, and market share.
Statistically analyze marketing programs and adjust strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
Provide performance reports, analysis, and regular status reports on marketing programs to the Management Team and Tribal Council.
Effectively cooperate and coordinate activities (such as events and promotions) with other managers to ensure interdepartmental team relationships.
Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and Gift Shop.
Ensure inventory control; report current stock on hand and necessary purchasing orders for gift shop supplies and inventories with the Crown Club/Gift Shop Lead.
Ensure effective controls of marketing results and take action to guarantee that marketing objectives fall within designated budgets.
Plan, prepare and present for approval advertising and promotional materials and negotiate all media buys and publicity.
Coordinate public relations while working with city and state organizations to promote casino interest, initiate press releases and represent the casino at appropriate functions.
Maintain close working relationship with media.
Manage the development, production, and distribution of promotions and collateral materials including print, social media, direct mail, point‑of‑purchase displays, and signage to support sales and marketing programs.
Monitor competitive products and marketing activities.
Oversee development, maintenance and utilization of customer database (Kanomi).
Establish research methodology such as survey, opinion poll, or questionnaire, and design means for collecting data for each project.
Develop and assist in conducting surveys and focus groups to analyze customer purchasing patterns, preferences, and the organization’s image and marketing effectiveness.
Negotiate entertainment contacts with local bands for entertainment venues.
Create an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
Set a positive example at all times for all team members.
Maintain a professional reputation within the Marketing Departments, the company and the community.
Serve as Public Information Officer and spokesperson for The Heights Casino and the Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma and Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Degree (B.A. or B.S.) and/or equivalent experience.
Five to seven years Casino Marketing/Advertising experience and the ability to handle a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
In‑depth knowledge of advertising, promotions, entertainment design, special events, direct mail and player tracking systems.
Ability to interact with the general public.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Working environment consists of various levels of smoke, noise, light, heat, and cold.
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Must be able to operate in physically and mentally stressful conditions.
Must have the manual dexterity to use a computer keyboard, micr‑touch screen and phone.
Conditions and Policies:
The Heights gives hiring preference first to members of the Trinidad Rancheria and then to members of all other federally recognized tribes.
All candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Tribal Gaming License once employed.
