About Our Agency:
South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.
JOB PURPOSE:
This position leads the agency's Communications team to facilitate enhanced brand awareness of agency programming, initiatives, resources and services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing the production of assets and coordination of multi-platform media campaigns for the promotion of radio, television and digital content as well as agency strategic initiatives, press releases, print materials, audience engagement, facility rentals and room use, community engagement events, annual reports and website updates. Responsible for sharing successes with internal and external audiences as well as developing team members for growth.
JOB DUTIES:
Oversees the development and implementation of cross-departmental communications strategies and long-range public information and/or education programs designed to promote and explain agency goals, activities and objectives. Oversees the production of promotional materials, assets and presentations for multi-platform use as well as consistency in brand implementation. Works to develop and execute objectives as identified in the agency's Strategic Communications Plan to promote internal and external initiatives and content, including the promotion of the network and content on broadcast television, radio and digital platforms.
Works to develop and strengthen community partnerships that are essential to the agency's mission. Assists with the work of the Community Advisory Council to include meeting summaries, management of member directory and other tasks as the group continues to evolve. Oversees the planning, promotion and execution of internal and external events to promote agency content and initiatives. Oversees the development and implementation of the agency's facility rental processes and room reservations, striving to increase revenue generated from external users.
Reviews and provides guidance around news and feature releases, speeches, media campaigns, educational materials, etc. Oversees the completion of annual reports and other audience-specific publications. Guides the agency's internal communications to include newsletters and other correspondence. Works with the Development teams to support underwriting and fundraising activities as appropriate.
Works collaboratively to support and develop strategies that help to achieve agency goals and objectives relating to digital platforms including agency internal and external websites, social media, the SCETV app, SCETV Passport and other online sites. Oversees consistency in the agency's web presence. Develops strategies for the presentation and dissemination of analytics regarding the agency's various resources and services.
Coaches and counsels the Communications team as the leader, providing opportunities for growth and development. Fosters a collaborative work environment by facilitating team building and communication. Communicates success and issues to Chief Public Information Officer, working to mitigate and find solutions for potential challenges. Attends professional development in the form of online and in-person training at conference and meetings, representing the agency.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or a related field. Working knowledge of state government and/or Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR) systems.
Familiarity with graphic design and video editing programs.
The ideal candidate will be expected to work with a diverse group of stakeholders to include other internal teams, community groups, state agency personnel and other organizations throughout the PBS and NPR systems.

Alternative Work Schedules:

Travel:
Travel may be necessary with some assigned tasks. Limited in-state travel may be required.
After Hours:
Limited extended hours may be required to meet job requirements. Work may be required after normal working hours or on weekends.
