Daisy Theatricals and The Legitimacy Machine are in search of a stage manager and designers for an upcoming summer festival production of Kristen Milburn’s CONFIRMED, taking place this July in an off-broadway venue. Exact performance dates in July TBA (Dates will be confirmed in early May), with two performances slated for mid-to-late July, and the possibility for a third. Rehearsals begin after Memorial Day.
The total stipend for each position is as follows:
Stage Manager: $700
Costume Designer: $700
Scenic Designer: $600
CONFIRMED is a play that follows a group of 14-year-old girls as they scramble to finish their volunteer requirements in the weeks leading up to their Confirmation and formal designation as adults in the Catholic Church. As they write greeting cards, stuff envelopes, and glue macaroni pasta, they also question what it means to be a good person, when you finally gain the wisdom that comes with being an adult, and how they fit into an institution that values good deeds on principle while not supporting LGBTQ rights in practice. While the story is told through a religious lens, the central themes are less about Catholicism and more about the pressures of growing into yourself and growing up without having the support you need to do so. This production is being directed by Hannah Katz.
As our Stage Manager, you’d be asked to support our director by attending all rehearsals, taking blocking and design notes, creating daily calls and rehearsal reports, and calling the show during performances.
As our Costume Designer or Scenic Designer, you'd be asked to work closely with our director to create a design for the show, build/create/buy pieces while adhering to budget limitations, attend our designer run, our required tech rehearsal, and to be around for troubleshooting during the performances. The costume designer should expect to design for five to six bodies.
