PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Media Planner, Digital & Social Ad Sales, will provide end-to-end support to the Ad Sales teams across digital, audio, linear, programmatic, and Social channels, with a specific focus on Social. This position will be pivotal in collaborating with the Social Ad Sales and Operations teams to identify and implement best practices and processes for Social. This person will have a strong knowledge of BBC's systems, platforms, ad products, and capabilities to deliver successful advertising campaigns. The Media Planner, Digital & Social Ad Sales is based in the New York office and is an integral function to BBC Advertising. This position reports into the Manager, Media Strategist & Planning and will work closely with the Head of Social & Off-Platform Sales.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

The Media Planner, Digital & Social Ad Sales supports the full advertising campaign lifecycle, from pre-sale strategy through post-sale execution, with a strong focus on Social advertising. This role partners closely with Sales, Client Success, Ad Ops, and internal planning teams to deliver seamless, high-quality campaigns across social, digital, audio, programmatic, and linear channels. Clear, efficient communication and strong cross-functional collaboration are critical to ensuring campaigns meet client goals, drive revenue, and deliver an exceptional advertising experience.

Pre-Sale Support:

Partner with Sales to respond to RFPs and RFIs across multiple channels, developing strategic, client-focused solutions that align BBC offerings with advertiser objectives
Develop media plans and proposal materials, forecast and reserve inventory, and ensure accurate pricing and availability
Track and report all pre-sale Social pitches for visibility and reporting to the Head of Social & Off-Platform Sales
Maintain deep knowledge of BBC products, tools, platforms, and operational capabilities
Post-Sale Execution:

Review insertion orders for accuracy, book campaigns in the order management system, and support launch coordination with internal teams
Monitor pacing and performance, optimizing campaigns to deliver in full and achieve client KPIs
Deliver regular reporting and screenshots to clients, partnering with Client Success to ensure performance, delivery, and renewal readiness
Track and report post-sale Social delivery, collaborate with Ad Ops and Social teams to improve workflows, processes, and overall efficiency of Social campaigns
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

2+ years of experience in media planning, sales planning, or advertising support
Strong understanding of omnichannel media planning, including social, digital, audio, linear, and programmatic
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

Experience within a premium publisher or media owner environment
Familiarity with social platforms and campaigns
Exposure to tools such as Google Ad Manager, Operative.One, Salesforce, or similar platforms
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency in Excel

COMPENSATION

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $60,000 to $70,000.

This range does not include bonus compensation

or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.

The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.
