The Marketing & Communications Director will lead the marketing function for Element U.S. Space & Defense "EUSSD" with demonstrated capabilities in developing and implementing marketing campaigns. This key role will analyze the EUSSD's goals and research our target audience to develop and maintain a detailed marketing plan, including a crisis management recovery plan, and schedules for campaigns and events. This role will also plan and oversee all trade show activity, which includes delivering presentation sets and booth collateral along with facilitating vendor services coordination, developing trade show strategies, attending events, and processing leads. This role is also responsible for building relationships with GMs and key SMEs from all laboratories across the enterprise. This role further encompasses providing quality control oversight on certain brand assets, standardizing and improving communication efforts for the organization, and leading a variety of digital marketing projects.
Primary responsibilities include evaluating and developing the marketing strategy and marketing plan, building brand awareness including laboratory positioning; ensuring compliance across all departments and functional areas, researching demand for products and services, competitor research, independently executing elements of marketing strategy, identifying the company's potential customers, driving lead generation and opportunities through marketing initiatives, compiling ad campaign and other promotional effort results in comprehensive reports; presenting to the leadership and executive team, ensuring every trade show is executed flawlessly, gathering insights from GMs and SMEs for all 6 labs to determine how best to market current and future capabilities, assessing digital marketing strategies, and developing new marketing initiatives and the optimization of current processes, collaborating with other teams to identify the public voice of the brand, consulting with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises, writing letters, proposals, and other business correspondence, communicating with media outlets and journalists and creating press kits, developing materials to educate staff on communication practices, coaching and assisting team members on improving communication skills, overseeing and ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and strategic alignment of all internal communications and memos, maintaining consistency with organizational standards and brand voice across departments, performing communications research and monitoring the progress of various communications strategies, and promoting the company on various digital platforms such as Linkedin, Facebook, and AI platforms, etc.
Minimum qualifications include 12 years of demonstrated wide-ranging experience in managing a similar marketing function, proven experience managing a marketing department and projects to completion, past work with digital marketing forms like content marketing and social media marketing, prior in-depth professional knowledge and experience in communications, public relations, advertising, or other relevant industries, and a hybrid role with a combination of work-from-home, onsite, and ability to travel to support various trade shows; up to 30% travel.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's or advanced degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred, 8+ years of demonstrated in managing the marketing function, 10+ years of experience in communications, public relations, advertising, or other relevant industries, prior marketing or sales experience in the Defense and/or Space industry, and have a working knowledge of defense programs, contracting, and procurement activities.

As a result, compensation may vary and can be influenced by geographic location. For this position, the annual base salary target range is typically $130,000 - $150,000. This range reflects base salary only; depending on the role, you may also be eligible for monthly or annual bonuses or commission.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
