Purpose

This Enterprise Communications Lead owns the strategy, standards, and operating model for internal and external communications across the Company. The role partners closely with the CMO, CEO, Chief of Staff, CHRO, Executive Administration, business leaders, and shared services to ensure communications are clear, appropriately distributed, well-governed, and aligned to the company’s priorities.

The role is responsible for building a communications system that can scale with the organization.

Position Responsibilities

Enterprise Communications Strategy

Develop and maintain the enterprise communications strategy across internal and external channels

Create a clear and consistent enterprise narrative aligned to business priorities, leadership messaging, and major company moments

Standardize communications principles, tone, and messaging across the company

Internal Communications Governance

Define what qualifies as enterprise-wide communication versus departmental communication

Establish and enforce approval workflows for CEO, executive, and department-level communications

Reduce low-value, duplicative, or unnecessary all-company communication

Help design the operating model for internal communications as the bank launches its new intranet

Channel Strategy and Standards

Define the role of each communications channel, including email, intranet, social media, enterprise meetings, and PR

Establish clear standards for what content belongs in each channel and who has authority to publish

Ensure communications are routed through the appropriate channel based on audience, purpose, and urgency

External Communications and PR

Lead governance for the bank’s social media presence, including posting standards, prioritization, and approvals

Manage external communications and PR in alignment with enterprise priorities

Support executive visibility and thought leadership where appropriate

Ensure market-facing communications are consistent, credible, and on-brand

Executive and Enterprise Communications

Own end-to-end planning and delivery of the bank’s key enterprise forums, including QBRs, Ignite, and Town Hall

Lead cross-functional coordination across executive leadership, Marketing, HR, Executive Administration, and external vendors to execute these events

Own communications strategy, narrative development, and content integration for each forum

Partner with the CEO, Chief of Staff, and executive team to align leadership messaging and major company communications

Drive consistency across enterprise forums so these moments reinforce a cohesive bank-wide narrative

SOP Development and Cross-Functional Coordination

Build and maintain an enterprise communications SOP that defines standards, approvals, and workflows

Establish and support a cross-functional communications working group with partners from Marketing, HR, and Executive Administration

Train stakeholders on communications standards and help drive adoption across the organization

8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, executive communications, internal communications, or a related field

Experience operating in a complex, multi-division organization

Experience supporting senior executives or enterprise leadership teams

Experience building or managing internal communications programs

Experience overseeing external communications, social media governance, or PR

Financial services or regulated industry experience is a plus

Technical Knowledge and Skills

Microsoft office software suite.

Demonstrated ability to build communications processes, governance models, and operating standards

Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills

Excellent writing, editing, and message-framing capabilities

Strong judgment and the ability to balance speed, clarity, and control

Experience developing SOPs, playbooks, or communications governance frameworks

Compensation

Base Salary Range:

$85,000 - $110,000 annually. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.

Additional Compensation:

This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role expected to work in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. This person will ideally sit out of our Rockville, MD headquarters location. You will be able to work remotely on Wednesday.
