Job Summary
The Minnesota Lottery seeks a Regional Sales Manager for the Metro South region. This role directs and coordinates all regional activities, including sales management, merchandising, promotion planning and implementation, regional corporate account management, new business development, retailer training, staff training and development. The region has approximately 775 retail accounts and was responsible for $220 million in sales last fiscal year.

Qualifications

A minimum of five (5) years of sales, marketing, and promotions experience.

Supervisory experience or experience as a lead worker, or completion of a leadership program.

Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.

A valid Class D driver’s license.

A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related discipline may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Sales experience in the gaming or entertainment industry.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, business, or a related discipline.

Sales, marketing and promotions experience representing consumer packaged goods.

Demonstrated sales supervision experience.

Interpersonal communication skills sufficient to establish effective working relationships with assigned retailers, chains, and co‑workers.

Ability to manage and organize multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Proficiency in current communication technology and business software programs.

Physical Requirements
Requires occasional transport of articles weighing up to 25–30 pounds and moving promotional materials.

Additional Requirements
The position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and fingerprint check. Background checks include employment reference checks and a SEMA4 records check for current and former State of Minnesota employees.
