Role Overview
AVP, HR Technology & Workforce Systems – Welltower. The role leads the strategy, implementation, and ongoing management of HCM and WFM technology solutions for Welltower’s operating partners.
Location: Dallas, TX. Travel: ~25% to domestic and international partner offices.
Key Responsibilities
HR Technology Strategy & Architecture
- Own the strategy, roadmap, and governance for the organization’s HR technology ecosystem.
- Define and maintain the architecture for employee lifecycle systems covering recruiting, onboarding, learning, workforce scheduling, payroll integration, and workforce analytics.
- Partner with operating partners HR, Operations, and Finance leadership to ensure technology supports workforce planning, compliance, and operational objectives.
- Evaluate emerging HR technologies and recommend improvements to the technology stack.
System Implementation & Program Leadership
- Lead enterprise implementations of HR technology platforms such as Workday and workforce management systems.
- Manage multi‑phase deployments including discovery, system configuration, testing, change management, and go‑live.
- Coordinate implementation partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
- Establish project governance, timelines, and success metrics for system deployments.
- Oversee phased rollouts across operators, communities, or business units.
Vendor Management
- Serve as primary owner of vendor relationships for HR technology platforms and related service providers.
- Manage vendor performance, contracts, service levels, and product roadmaps.
- Coordinate with vendors on system enhancements, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- Lead evaluation and selection processes for new HR technology solutions.
System Operations & Optimization
- Oversee the ongoing administration and optimization of HR systems after implementation.
- Ensure system configuration supports business processes, regulatory requirements, and workforce policies.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase automation, reporting capability, and user adoption.
- Maintain system documentation, governance standards, and data management practices.
Integrations & Data Strategy
- Oversee integrations between HR systems and other enterprise platforms including finance, data warehouse, payroll providers, and third‑party vendors.
- Ensure a unified employee master record across systems and consistent data governance practices.
- Partner with analytics teams to enable workforce dashboards and reporting capabilities.
- Support development of predictive workforce analytics and executive reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as primary liaison between operator HR, Operations, IT, and Finance for workforce technology initiatives.
- Lead cross‑functional working groups responsible for system design and process alignment.
- Provide training, communication, and change‑management support during system implementations.
- Ensure high levels of adoption and satisfaction among system users.
Travel
Approximately 25% travel to operating partner offices, both domestic and international (Canada & UK).
Minimum Requirements
- 8–12+ years of experience in HR technology, HRIS, or enterprise systems leadership.
- Direct experience implementing or managing enterprise HCM platforms such as Workday, Dayforce, UKG, SAP SuccessFactors.
- Experience implementing or managing workforce management platforms including timekeeping or scheduling systems.
- Experience leading enterprise software implementations with external vendors and implementation partners.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes including recruiting, onboarding, payroll, workforce management, and compliance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in healthcare, senior living, retail, hospitality, or other industries with large frontline or hourly workforces.
- Experience managing HR system integrations and enterprise data architecture.
- Experience supporting multi‑entity or multi‑operator organizations.
- Experience implementing workforce analytics or HR data platforms.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Advanced degree preferred.
