About this Opportunity:


Our client high-growth SaaS organization focused on helping businesses simplify complex financial and compliance processes is seeking a Customer Account Manager (CAM) to support and grow existing SMB customer accounts.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in relationship-driven sales, enjoys partnering closely with customers, and has a strong ability to identify expansion opportunities while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The CAM will play a key role in driving Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), customer retention, and long-term account growth across an assigned book of business.

This is a hybrid role that must be based in Durham, NC.


About You:


  • You have 4–8+ years of experience in quota-carrying SaaS sales, account management, or customer growth roles.
  • You consistently exceed quota and have a proven track record of 110%+ attainment.
  • You are highly skilled at expanding existing customer accounts through strategic upsell and cross-sell motions.
  • You are confident engaging executive stakeholders including Controllers, VP Finance leaders, and CFOs.
  • You know how to create pipeline opportunities proactively instead of relying solely on inbound demand.
  • You have experience managing complex, multi-threaded sales cycles across multiple stakeholders.
  • You are disciplined with forecasting, CRM hygiene, and opportunity management.
  • You thrive in a hybrid environment and are comfortable operating autonomously while collaborating cross-functionally.


What You Will Do:


  • You will own a portfolio of SMB customer accounts with full accountability for ARR growth, retention, and expansion.
  • You will consistently exceed quota through proactive pipeline generation and whitespace opportunity identification.
  • You will develop and execute strategic account plans focused on long-term customer growth and multi-product adoption.
  • You will build trusted relationships across Finance, Tax, Operations, and executive leadership teams.
  • You will position solutions around measurable business outcomes including compliance, operational efficiency, scalability, and risk reduction.
  • You will lead complex deal cycles including negotiations, forecasting, and deal strategy execution.
  • You will identify churn risks early and proactively drive customer retention initiatives.
  • You will maintain strong pipeline discipline and forecasting accuracy within Salesforce or equivalent CRM platforms.
  • You will collaborate with Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Leadership teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • You will act as a strategic partner to customers while uncovering new revenue opportunities within the existing account base.


What You Will Need:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4–8+ years of experience in SaaS sales, customer account management, or revenue-focused customer growth roles.
  • Proven success managing existing customer relationships with measurable ARR growth results.
  • Strong experience selling into SMB and Mid-Market organizations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive engagement skills.
  • Strong forecasting discipline and CRM management experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience in SaaS, FinTech, ERP, payroll, finance, tax, or compliance-focused industries is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP ecosystems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
