USA Volleyball (USAV) is the national governing body for beach, indoor, sitting, snow, and para‑beach volleyball in the United States with over 500,000 members. It is responsible for selecting Olympic and Paralympic volleyball teams.

Job Overview
We are seeking a part‑time (20 hrs per week) Social Media Content Producer to lead digital storytelling and audience engagement across USAV platforms. The role will develop and execute content strategies, elevate visibility of athletes and events, and support national team athletes in building their personal social media presence.

The position is located in Southern California and may require extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Partner in the development and execution of USAV’s social media content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook.

Capture, produce, and oversee high‑quality photo and video content at practices, competitions, and events.

Edit and deliver engaging video content, including match recaps, highlights, athlete features, and campaign‑driven storytelling.

Design and direct the creation of graphics for game days, rankings, awards, and promotional campaigns in alignment with USAV brand standards.

Support the social media content calendar, ensuring consistency, timeliness, and alignment with organizational priorities.

Write and approve platform‑specific captions and messaging that reflect USAV’s voice and strategic objectives.

Collaborate with marketing, communications, creative, and partnerships teams to execute integrated campaigns and maximize reach and impact.

Lead planning and execution of media days, including content strategy, scheduling, and coordination with athletes and staff.

Provide strategic direction and content support for in‑venue production, including video board features and fan engagement elements.

Analyze performance metrics and audience insights to optimize content strategy and report on key performance indicators.

Athlete Social Media & Brand Support

Serve as a primary resource for Indoor and Beach National Team athletes in developing and elevating their personal social media presence.

Provide guidance on content strategy, platform best practices, audience growth, and brand alignment.

Capture and produce individualized athlete content to support personal brand development and storytelling.

Align athlete content with USAV sponsorship, marketing campaigns, and partner deliverables, ensuring consistency and value creation.

Educate athletes on social media policies, SafeSport considerations, and brand representation standards.

Additional Duties

Oversee real‑time social media coverage during competitions and key events.

Support sponsor and partner activation through coordinated digital content and athlete integration.

Identify and implement emerging trends, tools, and platforms to enhance fan engagement.

Serve as a subject matter expert on social media strategy and digital storytelling within the organization.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Proven progressive experience in social media management, preferably in sports, collegiate athletics, or a related field.

Demonstrated success developing and executing social media strategies that drive audience growth and engagement.

Experience working directly with athletes, influencers, or personal brands.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects) or similar tools.

Strong photography and videography skills, including live sports content capture.

Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Experience with social media analytics and management tools (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite, native insights).

Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed for events.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Sports Management, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Must successfully pass a USAV background screening.

Must complete Safe Sport training within two weeks of hire date and maintain it throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within a national governing body, professional sports organization, or NCAA athletics program.

Knowledge of volleyball and the Olympic/Paralympic sports landscape.

Experience supporting athlete brand development or NIL‑related initiatives.

Familiarity with content planning and workflow tools (e.g., Airtable, Asana, Trello).

Motion graphics and advanced video editing experience.

Salary: $33 - $39/hr, commensurate with experience.
