Vice President of Creative, Americas
The Vice President of Creative, Americas is the creative visionary and brand storyteller for Disney Consumer Products across Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox, and National Geographic. Leading a team of 80+ designers across the Americas, this role defines the graphic design, character art, branding, and packaging that brings these beloved franchises to life in the licensing business. This is a hands‑on creative leader who establishes the visual identity and creative standards that inspire 1000+ licensee partners to create magic. This leader will report into the SVP Global Creative.

Creative Vision & Brand Storytelling

Define the creative vision and visual identity for Disney's brand portfolio—setting the creative direction that transforms storytelling into compelling graphic design, character art, and brand expressions

Serve as brand guardian and creative authority, ensuring character integrity and authentic storytelling across all creative applications while enabling innovation

Develop multi‑year creative strategies and seasonal design direction in collaboration with Global Creative, Studios, and Franchise teams

Champion fresh, innovative creative thinking that challenges conventions and drives cultural relevance

Style Guides & Graphic Design Leadership

Oversee the creation of comprehensive style guides and creative toolkits—the foundational design systems that inspire and enable licensee partners globally

Lead design teams in developing world‑class graphic design, typography, color systems, character art, patterns, and brand expressions across softlines, hardlines, and consumables categories

Drive bespoke creative development for strategic key accounts delivering original art, graphics, branding, and packaging that elevates the brand

Establish packaging design standards and retail creative programs that bring Disney brands to life at point‑of‑sale through immersive visual experiences

Studio Collaboration & Authenticity

Partner with filmmakers and creative leaders across Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Disney Channels, and Disney+ to ensure authentic brand representation

Translate storytelling and franchise vision into compelling visual design that honors the creative intent while driving commercial success

Navigate Business Affairs and Legal approval processes to ensure creative materials meet all requirements before distribution

Creative Operations & Production

Lead the production organization that develops, delivers, and distributes style guides and creative assets to licensee partners

Establish best‑in‑class creative workflows, asset management systems, and production processes that enable the team to deliver exceptional quality at scale

Partner with Marketing to develop large‑scale creative campaigns and retail activations across the TWDC brand portfolio

Leadership & Creative Culture

Lead, inspire, and develop a team of 80+ designers across the Americas, recruiting and retaining world‑class creative talent

Foster an inclusive, dynamic creative culture that celebrates diverse perspectives, encourages risk‑taking, and challenges the status quo

Champion professional development, emerging skillsets, succession planning, and career growth for the creative organization

Collaborate with regional Creative leaders (EMEA, APAC) to drive creative excellence and consistency across global markets

15+ years of progressive creative leadership in consumer products, entertainment licensing, or major global brands

Proven track record developing style guide systems, brand toolkits, and creative campaigns for large‑scale licensing programs

Experience leading creative teams across multiple categories (apparel, toys, home, consumables) and retail channels

Leadership

Inspirational creative leader who builds, mentors, and retains world‑class design talent across diverse, multicultural teams

Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field; willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $236,000.00 to $316,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
