Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill three part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) student outreach assistant for the KidSpirit at Oregon State University (OSU).

OSU KidSpirit is looking for student graphic designers, photographers, and video editors to join our creative team. This position offers a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in creating visually engaging content and to further develop their skills in a supportive, dynamic environment. The marketing team will produce marketing materials, impact reports, instructional guides, and promotional and educational videos contributing to the vibrant KidSpirit community through both summer and school-year programs.
This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week during academic terms and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks and summer) Student Outreach Assistant positions for the KidSpirit Program in the Division of Extension and Engagement at Oregon State University (OSU).

Position Duties
Key Responsibilities:
Graphic Designers:
Design and produce marketing materials such as flyers, posters, banners, digital ads, impact reports (detailed reports on the influence and outcomes of KidSpirit programs), instructor guides, and student guides.
As a part of the KidSpirit team, you will work collaboratively to ensure that all designs meet the program's needs and brand standards. Your contributions will be valued, and your ideas will help shape the visual identity of KidSpirit.
Contribute to the visual design aspects of KidSpirit's web presence and promotional campaigns.
Experience with Adobe InDesign preferred
Photographers: Capture high-quality photographs of KidSpirit programs, events, and activities, ensuring coverage of key moments and features.
Edit, process, and prepare photos for marketing materials, social media, and web content.
Collaborate with graphic designers to ensure that photos are integrated effectively (in a way that enhances the overall design and message) into various design projects.
Video Editors: Develop and edit video content highlighting KidSpirit programs, events, and promotional efforts.
Assist in the planning, filming, and producing video projects, ensuring content is engaging and aligned with KidSpirit's goals.
Work with the team to produce videos that effectively tell the story of KidSpirit's impact and offerings.
At Times May Be Asked to Assist in leading specialized activities for children during but not limited to birthday parties, event childcare and ACES (Activities Create Excitement on no-School days) while promoting skill development, preparing and implementing lesson plans, providing feedback, maintaining safe learning environment, and assisting other instructors and camp counselors.
Qualifications: Currently enrolled as a student (high school or college)
Preferred: Working towards a degree in Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, Visual Arts, Media Studies, or a related field.
Experience in the field are encouraged to apply
Demonstrated experience in graphic design, photography, or video editing, with a strong portfolio of previous work.
Minimum Qualifications

Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications Current, valid First Aid certification by the start of programming.
Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RRCAN) certification by start of programming.
Introduction to Child Care Health & Safety certification by start of programming.
Fundamentals of Learning
OSU Youth Safety and Compliance requirements, standards of behavior and mandatory reporting training.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications Working towards a degree in Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, Visual Arts, Media Studies, or a related field.
Experience in the field are encouraged to apply
Demonstrated experience in graphic design, photography, or video editing, with a strong portfolio of previous work.
Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.), and other relevant multimedia design and editing tools (such as Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, or After Effects).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, proactive attitude and a willingness to take on multiple projects.
Ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekends and evenings, and to adapt to varying program schedules.
