Position Overview
The Marketing & Promotions Manager will provide project management, planning, and execution of programming and sales promotions, events and contests, as well as manage our audience database platforms. The role coordinates on‑site and off‑site station events and remote broadcasts, executes contests, promotions, and strategic campaigns, and serves as the primary point person for community partnerships while supervising a team of Promotions Assistants.

Work configuration: This position is an on‑site role that requires the employee to work at our Seattle site.

What You Will Do
Project Management

Plan, manage, and execute station and client promotions, contests, and events that take place on‑air, online, and/or on‑site, including set‑up/tear down of equipment/materials as necessary.

Oversee brand (KIRO/SeattleSports/SeattleRed/MyNorthwest) and programming promotions, events, host appearances & contests (e.g., Seahawk home broadcasts, Mariner home broadcasts, Holiday Magic).

Manage and lead the Promotions team, including recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching.

Oversee community partnerships, charity requests, award submissions, and outreach efforts.

Work with Programming, Imaging, and Traffic as needed for promotional execution.

Work with the legal department to obtain all documents necessary for promotion implementation; serve as Legal Liaison to ensure all corporate legal requirements are met.

Maintain costs within the department budget.

Ensure community relations and the proper outside image of all Bonneville Seattle stations, i.e., appearance of promotion staff, signage, and station presence displayed to the maximum potential.

Audience Engagement & Digital Marketing

Serve as the marketing automation expert for the Braze platform, staying current on features and functionality while managing updates and leveraging capabilities to drive audience growth through targeted email, push notifications, text, mobile, and special campaigns.

Develop, schedule, and execute digital communications including newsletters, contest and event promotions, audience engagement initiatives, and direct marketing programs across platforms and brands.

Lead the development and execution of Bonneville Seattle’s digital communications strategy, including audience segmentation, A/B testing, deployment, and corporate partnership fulfillment.

Write and edit compelling on‑air, online, and marketing copy for promotions, sales campaigns, community initiatives, and branded content.

Create engaging graphics and digital assets to support promotional efforts, sales initiatives, and multi‑channel campaigns.

Collaborate closely with sales, programming, creative teams, and key stakeholders to identify target audiences, grow email and app databases, and ensure all campaign assets are prepared and deployed on schedule.

Contesting & Promotions

Facilitate station contesting and oversee prize fulfillment in accordance with station policies and FCC rules.

Enter, maintain, and track all prize and winner information, including audit‑ready prize folders.

Prepare contest articles and graphics and contest‑related form fills and winner sheets.

Skills and Experience

Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in marketing, audience engagement, or a related field.

Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Experience leading and managing a team; proven delegation, problem‑solving, and prioritizing skills, preferred.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as necessary.

Ability to conceptualize, develop ideas, and follow through to completion.

Maintain a valid driver’s license and proven ability to safely drive a personal vehicle without exposing the company to serious liability risks.

Experience with email marketing and audience engagement platform; Braze experience is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Canva and photo/video editing tools is a plus.

Self‑motivated, reliable, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Experience with data analysis is a plus.

Familiarity with WordPress and digital content management system is a plus.

Experience in graphic production and video production is a plus.

Physical Demands

Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.

Ability to extend hands and arms in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.

Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment; ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods.

Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and be comfortable operating station vehicles, including a Subaru Forester and Sprinter van.

Compensation Range
$26.73 – $36.92 per hour; rate will be determined by an evaluation of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal and external benchmarks.
