Description: Audio/Video Technicians

TradeSTAR is currently hiring experienced Audio/Video Technicians for commercial AV integration and low-voltage installation projects in the San Antonio area. These positions are with established integration contractors supporting conference room systems, digital signage, distributed audio, video conferencing, and commercial multimedia installations.
We are seeking technicians with hands-on experience in commercial AV installations, structured cabling, and integrated technology systems who can work efficiently in active commercial construction and retrofit environments.

Job Responsibilities
• Install and support commercial audio/video systems and infrastructure
• Pull, route, dress, and terminate low-voltage AV cabling
• Install and configure:
o Displays and monitors
o Projectors and projection screens
o Video conferencing systems
o Distributed audio systems
o DSP equipment
o Control systems
o Digital signage
o AV racks and head-end equipment
• Install ceiling speakers, wall-mounted displays, microphones, amplifiers, and touch panels
• Build and dress AV equipment racks and cable management systems
• Terminate and test:
o HDMI
o Cat6/Cat6A
o Audio cabling
o Fiber optic cabling
o Control wiring
• Read and interpret:
o Blueprints
o AV schematics
o Signal flow diagrams
o Rack elevations
o One-line diagrams
• Troubleshoot signal flow, connectivity, and device communication issues
• Assist with system testing, commissioning, and final client turnover
• Maintain labeling, documentation, and quality control standards

Qualifications
• 1+ years of commercial AV or low-voltage installation experience
• Experience with structured cabling and AV device installation
• Ability to read AV drawings and installation documentation
• Familiarity with commercial construction environments
• Ability to work from ladders and lifts
• Reliable transportation and basic hand tools required

Preferred Experience
Experience with systems or manufacturers such as:
• Crestron
• Extron
• QSC
• Biamp
• Logitech
• Shure
• Poly
• Samsung
• LG
• Cisco Webex
CTS certification is a plus but not required.
