Group Creative Director Of Copywriting We're looking for a Group Creative Director of the Copywriting persuasion to help oversee and develop the creative work of an independent, brand-led, performance-driven agency. You should be equal parts concept guru and copy cop. You'll be setting the standard, raising the bar, and making sure the work is on brand and on strategy.
What you'll actually do:
Review copy across all our accounts and give feedback that's honest, useful, and not soul-crushing
Push for bold thinking while keeping it grounded in strategy
Review all creative output with an eye to creativity, strategic goals, business needs, and brand standards
Bring a sensitivity for brand tone to all you do, with an ability to write in a variety of voices
Jump into brainstorms and help crack tough briefs with creative contributions of your own
Participate in and/or lead creative pitches with the ECD to help us win accounts and projects we're excited about
Proactively create strategic PowerPoint decks or slides for new business pitches as well as important client presentations
Establish rapport and cultivate relationships with clients
Lead client presentations to sell ideas with confidence and a strong strategic foundation
What we're looking for:
A strong portfolio of creative work across multiple channels. Do not just show us TV. Strong digital and social is a priority, as is strong headline writing.
Killer writing skills with a well-honed sensitivity for language
Experience overseeing copywriters at a senior level
Someone who gets both brand storytelling and performance-driven creative
Deep knowledge of best practices for modern social platforms
Ability to balance big-picture thinking with sweating the details
A clear point of view and vision
A decisive nature, but comfortable with executive-level, group decision-making
Strong communicator with a highly strategic mindset and respect for the brief
Good working knowledge of AI as it pertains to protected use in advertising
Strong management skills
Able to travel as needed, and willing to work early, late and weekends as needed.
Required Skills/Experience:
5+ years of experience in an agency Creative Director role or prior experience as a GCD
