Salary: $125,000 - $150,000

Job type: Full Time

Job Description
The New York Post provides readers with the best in News, Sports, Pop Culture and Entertainment – with signature wit, irreverence and authority averaging 80 million unique viewers a month. Over the past 224 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.

The New York Post is seeking an experienced Account Executive to lead advertising and partnership efforts in Washington, DC. This individual contributor role reports directly to the COO and offers the opportunity to drive revenue, build strategic relationships, and expand the Post’s commercial presence in a key market. The ideal candidate will bring a built-in network, a proven book of business, and experience selling advertising solutions across political, advocacy, and B2B channels.

In this role, you will lead political advertising campaigns including midterms, general fundraising, and election cycles while also identifying new opportunities with corporate and B2B clients. You will serve as the primary point of contact in DC, cultivating and maintaining relationships with clients, agencies, and organizations seeking to reach influential audiences. The right candidate thrives operating independently, is excited about representing an iconic and influential brand, and has a track record of translating networks and market knowledge into measurable revenue and strategic growth.

Responsibilities

Own advertising revenue in the Washington, DC market, including corporate, advocacy, B2B, and issue-based campaigns

Drive partnerships with corporations, associations, agencies, and organizations seeking to reach influential audiences and decision‑makers

Leverage an existing DC‑based network and book of business to generate immediate impact while expanding relationships with direct clients and agencies

Identify, package, and sell integrated advertising opportunities across digital, print, newsletters, events, sponsorships, and emerging platforms in support of the Post’s B2B strategy

Contribute to the commercialization of new initiatives, helping shape offerings, products, and positioning as the DC franchise grows

Act as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, translating market needs into advertising solutions and revenue opportunities

Operate autonomously as a senior individual contributor, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through close and renewal

Represent the Post credibly in DC, reinforcing the brand’s influence and relevance with key advertisers

Provide pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue updates to senior leadership

Requirements

8–12+ years of experience in advertising sales, partnerships, or revenue leadership with exposure to B2B, corporate, or advocacy‑focused media

Proven success selling high‑value, multi‑platform advertising solutions tied to influence, reputation, or institutional audiences

Deep understanding of the Washington ecosystem, including agencies, corporations, associations, and advocacy groups

Established DC‑based network with the ability to clearly articulate relationships, accounts, and successful campaigns

Experience operating as a senior individual contributor without local infrastructure or a large support team

Strong consultative sales approach with the ability to close complex, multi‑platform deals

Strategic thinker with hands‑on execution capabilities, comfortable building and selling simultaneously

Entrepreneurial, self‑directed, and energized by high‑growth opportunities

Compensation
Base salary of $125,000–$150,000, plus a sales bonus/commission plan. On‑target earnings (OTE) of $250,000–$300,000 are based on achieving 100% of sales goals, with upside potential of up to 200% of the sales bonus for exceeding targets.

At The New York Post we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, our ranges reflect our good faith estimate to pay fairly as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.

Pay‑for‑performance is a key element in our strategy to attract, engage, and motivate talented people to do their best work. Accordingly, offers extended for this role will include an annual bonus target. Similarly to salary, set annual incentive bonus targets are based on a variety of factors including competitive market practice, experience, tenure, and essential skills.

In addition to compensation, the company provides eligible employees a comprehensive and highly competitive benefits package, with a variety of physical health, retirement and savings, caregiving, emotional wellbeing, transportation, and other benefits, including “elective” benefits employees may select to best fit the needs and personal situations of our diverse workforce.
