Job Description Summary
The Wilson Library Social Media & Marketing Specialist will be responsible for planning, writing, and designing of promotional materials, creating social media content and displays, and informing faculty, staff, and students of the Wilson Library's services and resources at promotional events.
Specific Duties
Assist with training and peer coaching
Ensure projects stay on track, projects are completed by deadline and posted in a timely manner.
Conduct research on social media and outreach strategies.
Create fun and engaging content on Wilson Library's social media platforms (Instagram and TikTok)
Design promotional materials (flyers and videos) for the Wilson Library utilizing Canva or other editing/graphic design software.
Record (video and audio) and photograph Wilson Library's services, collection, and events.
Plan and create library displays that focus on various themes/topics such as: Latinx History Month, LGBTQ+ History Month, Banned Books Week, Women's History Month, etc.
Plan, create and execute engaging and interactive activities.
Interact with faculty, staff, and/or students at various library promotional events to inform them of the Wilson Library's services and resources.
Collaborate with other units within the Wilson Library on various projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience using Instagram and TikTok.
Knowledge of Canva or other graphic design software.
Knowledge of iMovie or other video editing tools.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and communications skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Strong project management skills to meet deadlines
Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively
Must be a current ULV student.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Interest in graphic design, photography, video creation and editing, creative writing, marketing, promotions, public relations, and/or event planning.
Customer Service experience
Benefits Summary
Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan - can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
