Purpose Statement:
This position is responsible for supporting the spiritual life of the school through the planning and execution of chapel services and special events, while also teaching and mentoring middle school students in media production and technology. The primary focus of this role is to create meaningful, Christ-centered experiences through media, worship, and student engagement.
Scope:
This position supports the spiritual and creative life of the school by overseeing chapel production, managing technical elements for school events, and equipping students with skills in media and production. This role integrates faith, creativity, and technology to enhance communication, worship, and student development.
Specific Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute all chapel services and special assemblies in alignment with the mission of Weston Christian Academy
Oversee all technical aspects of chapel and events, including sound, lighting, and presentation software
Coordinate rehearsals, production timelines, stage setup, seating logistics, and event flow for chapels and special assemblies
Manage livestream preparation and online broadcast elements for chapel and school events
Develop and organize production rundowns, technical cues, and event coordination materials for staff, speakers, and student Tech Team members
Collaborate with staff, guest speakers, and worship leaders to create meaningful, Christ-centered programs
Create and manage visual and presentation content for chapels and events, including graphics, slides, videos, presentations, and speaker support materials
Edit and produce video content for chapel, events, and school communications, including adding intros and outros, incorporating music, and making basic post-production edits
Lead and mentor the student Tech Team, fostering both technical skills and spiritual growth
Assign, train, and oversee student Tech Team responsibilities during rehearsals, chapel services, and school events
Foster a Christ centered and team oriented environment by leading and discipling students through collaboration, responsibility, and service
Teach middle school students in a Tech Team or media production class, focusing on podcasting, media, and digital production
Coordinate video recording and media production for special events and school use
Support photography and basic editing needs for chapel and school events as needed
Ensure all technical and production elements, including presentation content, graphics, videos, lighting, and audio, are properly reviewed and prepared prior to events and assemblies to support excellent execution
Communicate effectively with staff and vendors to support event planning and execution
Manage multiple projects and deadlines, especially during major events and school programs
Qualifications/Skills/Gifts:
Be a committed Christian who is a member in good standing in a Christian church
Have a strong commitment to the Philosophy and Statement of Faith of First Baptist Church at Weston and to the Mission Statement of Weston Christian Academy
Have a teachable and humble spirit
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and mentor middle school students
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience in media production, audio/visual systems, or event production
Proficiency in tools such as ProPresenter, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro preferred)
Basic video editing and post-production skills, including the ability to create simple, polished video content
Ability to problem-solve in live event settings
Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
