The Digital Communications Specialist II plays a critical editorial and digital role across Texas A&M AgriLife's integrated marketing and communications team. This position serves as a content creator and editor for AgriLife's digital content, ensuring consistency, quality and best practices across all AgriLife email communications, including newsletters, AgriLife Today, LiveWhale, brand websites and other digital platforms to support strategic, digitally focused storytelling across channels. This role blends editorial judgment, digital publishing expertise and strategic communications support, working across teams to elevate the clarity, effectiveness and impact of AgriLife communications. The ideal candidate is a strong editor and writer, highly organized, digitally savvy and comfortable balancing day-to-day production with longer-term strategic communications needs.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong editing and writing skills, with the ability to improve clarity, flow and effectiveness of content.
Experience producing or editing newsletters, email campaigns or digital publications.
Familiarity with digital publishing platforms and email marketing tools.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a marketing communications team, or higher education communications environment.
Familiarity with audience segmentation, email performance metrics and content optimization.
Experience adapting content for multiple digital channels.
Working knowledge of accessibility standards and digital content best practices.

What You Need to Know
Salary: Pay grade 9. Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate's qualifications.
