KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Play an integral role in the execution of initiatives focused on raising firm and lawyer awareness in the media
Responsible for drafting and editing content for press releases and internal/external communications
Collaborate with the department to assist with the development and implementation of firm-wide media relations strategies and plans
Use various media and tools to coordinate firm brand marketing
Monitor and compile firm news clips
Oversee and track internal and external news announcements and media pitches that increase firm visibility necessitating an understanding for key industries, legal themes, issues and solutions
Collaborate with practice leaders and business development department to advance marketing efforts
Draft, edit and finalize directory and award submissions
Manage logistics for press releases and interviews
Help Prep partners for interviews by providing important topics and relevant information related to the outlet
Maintain media lists and general outreach in relation to the firm’s public relations and marketing initiatives
Assist with the creation and distribution of a variety of marketing-related materials and content for the firm website and intranet
REQUIRED SKILLS:

2+ years of experience in public/media relations or corporate communications in a law firm or professional services environment
Bachelor’s degree required; English, Journalism or Public Relations focus desired
Proficient in MS Office Suite and ability to learn new software as needed
Experience with media monitoring tools, media databases and content management systems are a plus
Ability to work on multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines
Excellent writing and editorial skills
Close attention to detail and ability to maintain sight of long-term strategic goals
Ability to think creatively and pragmatically
Ability to organize and prioritize work while working independently or as part of a team
