The Senior Marketing and Public Relations Professional works with the Tifton Campus Conference Center director to create and implement marketing programs and strategies that increase clientele. This role creates and maintains customer databases, consults and negotiates contracts with clients, provides engagement and communication services, leads conference planning committees, manages the full onsite execution of complex events, and collaborates on conference budget management and business recaps. The position also supervises, trains, and evaluates new conference planners.

Position Summary
The Senior Marketing and Public Relations Professional is responsible for developing and executing marketing and event strategies to attract and retain clients for the Tifton Campus Conference Center. The role includes database management, client outreach, event coordination, partnership development, and financial oversight within the Center’s budget.

Duties / Responsibilities
Marketing and Event Coordination
Perform market research and collaborate with the Center Director to develop cohesive marketing plans
Support the Center Director in identifying, recruiting, and securing potential clients for conferences, meetings, and special events
Conduct outreach to prospective clients for marketing and event recruitment purposes
Engage in marketing, outreach, and promotional activities to increase awareness of the Conference Center and drive interest in hosted services
Meet with clients to advise on promotions, event packages, space options, and support services
Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of events, ensuring client needs and institutional standards are met
Collaborate with the local tourism board and Chamber of Commerce to promote the Conference Center and its events
Compile, maintain, and manage client mailing and email databases for targeted marketing campaigns
Supervisory Duties
Train new conference planners
Supervise conference planners in their assigned tasks
Perform annual evaluations of conference planners
Contract Negotiation
Consult vendors to negotiate contracts, manage budgets, and produce business recaps
Participate in leadership conference planning committees and meetings
Coordinate onsite management of highly complex events
