Position Summary
The Digital Media Specialist plays a key role in advancing the mission of FIVE18 Family Services by capturing and sharing stories of reconciliation, healing, and hope. This individual will lead digital storytelling efforts through social media, video, and podcast production to help connect donors, churches, and the community to the life‑changing work happening every day.

This role requires both creativity and strategy, someone who can see the story God is writing through this ministry and communicate the FIVE18 mission in a way that inspires engagement, education, generosity, and a deeper connection.

Essential Functions
Video Production and Post-Production

Plan, record, and edit video content for storytelling, marketing campaigns, donor engagement, short form social media, and long-form video of events, training, and presentations

Capture interviews, testimonials, program footage, and organizational events

Manage all aspects of production, including lighting, audio, camera setup, and composition

Edit video using professional software, incorporating music, graphics, and captions as needed

Organize and maintain video assets and equipment

Storytelling and Content Creation

Capture and tell stories of life change across FIVE18 programs

Write compelling scripts for video, campaigns, and content following the message of mission

Create clear, engaging short-form content (social, email, and campaigns) that drives education, connection and action (volunteers/donors)

Collaborate cross-functionally to produce content that is accessible, impactful, and on-brand

Ensure all storytelling reflects dignity, confidentiality, is faith-driven and trauma-informed care

Use trends and analytics to optimize content performance and audience growth

Podcast Production

Support the planning, recording, editing and posting of the Mended Futures Podcast

Coordinate with staff and guests to share meaningful conversations around healing, family, and faith (supporting and/or living a mended future)

Assist in promoting podcast episodes across digital channels

Social Media Management and Growth

Develop and execute a social media strategy that increases awareness, engagement, and support for FIVE18

Manage and grow platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging channels

Create and schedule content that reflects the mission and voice of FIVE18

Monitor analytics and trends and adjust strategy to improve reach and engagement

Engage with followers in a way that fosters community and connection

Collaboration and Project Support

Support multimedia needs for organizational events, and campaigns

Coordinate schedules, locations, and production logistics

Assist with photography or other multimedia/tech needs as required

Collaborate with the IT Department as needed

Brand and Mission Alignment

Ensure all content clearly reflects the organization’s mission and values

Maintain brand consistency across all video platforms

Collaborate with others on the marketing team to ensure each member’s success and the success of the team

Integrate faith thoughtfully and authentically into storytelling and messaging

Meet weekly with the marketing team to stay on track and report on progress, needs, strategy, and deployed tactics

Technical and Equipment Management

Maintain video equipment, cameras, microphones, lighting, and storage systems

Organize and archive video files and digital assets

Stay current with video production trends, tools, and best practices

Stay current with social media trends and develop a system of tracking to chart effectiveness

Deliverables

Experience with social media platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics

Podcast recording and production
Strong writing and storytelling ability across video, social, and digital formats

Weekly Marketing project meetings/check-ins

Monthly concept planning for upcoming video productions

Archiving, cataloging, and organization of existing and yet to be captured footage

Requirements
Position Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in some form of digital communication is strongly preferred.

Experience: 2+ years in an audio/video field is strongly preferred.

Computer Skills: Adobe creative suite proficiency is required.

Certification & Licenses: N/A

Other Requirements: Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, social media video editing software and formats, and optimization.

MUST provide samples of video/video editing

Skills & Abilities

Strong communication and project management skills.

Experience or familiarity working in a nonprofit or faith-based setting.

Be able to take initiative to self-start and stay ahead of deadlines.

Basic knowledge of After Effects is a plus.

A digital demo reel/portfolio showing proficiency is required.
