SEM Strategist, Performance Marketing


Location: Austin, TX


We are seeking a Growth SEM strategist to lead and drive our Search Engine Marketing (SEM) efforts. This individual will partner with Data Science, Product, and Engineering teams to elevate our search practice through advanced automation and in‑depth analyses that uncover campaign optimization opportunities.


What you’ll do



  • Develop and iterate on SEM strategies and products that drive business results.

  • Research, design, and build proof of concept products, then work to scale and automate these solutions.

  • Partner with data science and engineering on SEM‑focused solutions, including optimal bidding curves, budget allocation algorithms, campaign automation, incrementality and A/B tests, audience building, landing page optimization, and DSA page feeds.

  • Automate continuous campaign performance monitoring.

  • Identify gaps in Search Term coverage and optimize results based on query intent.

  • Audit and improve tracking and tagging for search to identify gaps.

  • Resolve ad hoc technical issues in the channel, acting as the primary technical contact with search vendors and internal engineering teams.

  • Collaborate with Analytics and Martech teams to design and launch high‑quality tests, and monitor these tests for improvement opportunities.

What you’ll bring



  • 5+ years of Growth Search Engine Marketing experience.

  • 3+ years of relevant analytical experience.

  • Experience working with at least 2 growth marketing SEM teams with budgets of over $10 million per year.

  • Organized and critical thinker with an eye for scalable, efficient solutions.

  • Proven record of defining and executing key analyses and tests that generate measurable insights with minimal direction.

  • Experience with SQL is strongly preferred.

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral); ability to present findings to peers and leadership alike.
