Position Summary
The Business Development Manager supports Alliance Construction Solutions’ efforts to identify, cultivate, and grow client relationships in the commercial general contracting sector. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this role executes on the company’s BD strategy, building a strong pipeline, while contributing to sustainable, profitable growth. The ideal candidate understands how a general contractor wins work and is fluent in project delivery methods including design-build, CM/GC, and hard bid.

Duties / Responsibilities

Actively seek out and pursue new client opportunities, converting leads into profitable business

Drive to/from jobsites, client meetings, business development events, etc.

Execute on the business development plan and strategy

Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client’s organization.

Research leads and make cold or warm calls with potential clients, evaluating and targeting prospects based on the evaluation criteria in the business development plan.

Schedule and conduct a targeted number of face-to-face meetings with prospects.

Plan approach and pitches. Work with team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.

Provide general project scope context to support pursuit conversations, and hand off to the appropriate ACS contact for detailed preconstruction input as needed.

Identify and represent ACS in key industry associations and at events; coordinate participation of other key ACS personnel.

Actively build and maintain relationships with architects, developers, and owner groups.

Maintain and share ongoing market intelligence with the Work Procurement team, including trends in project delivery, client priorities, and competitor activity.

Develop and maintain community involvement activities that benefit ACS’s image within the community.

Coordinate with the Work Procurement team on go
o-go decisions, proposal development, and interview preparation; assist in deciding pursuit strategy and content.

Assist in identification of needs for focused marketing efforts (i.e. e-blasts, direct mail, client events, etc.)

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM, including contact activity, pursuit status, and pipeline data.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) & Bluebeam Revu

Proficient communication, interpersonal and organization skills

Must have strong analytical, accuracy, and attention to detail skills

Demonstrated ability to build and sustain client relationships in a competitive market; natural networker with a consistent presence in relevant industry communities

Education and Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or client relations within the commercial construction industry

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Work is conducted primarily out of our Denver office but also includes before and after-hours networking events. Additionally, incumbent is expected to visit potential job sites and current job sites to provide tours, guidance and gather information on new work. Work will be interrupted due to management or employees with questions and needs.
