Job Description
Coordinates with Media team, Brand & Engagement team, Public Engagement Division including digital specialists, writers and designers, Oxfam International and Oxfam affiliates, various vendors, and freelancers.
Provide support to Oxfam America’s Media and Brand & Engagement teams, with a focus on monitoring, evaluation, and analysis to ensure the team meets its goals. Key tasks will include monitoring, tracking, and internally disseminating media mentions of Oxfam; providing task assignment and performance feedback on media deliverables to PE intern; maintaining our media databases, including media lists of relevant contacts; providing analysis of and updates on the team’s key performance indicators (KPIs); and providing administrative support and managing relationships with key vendors as primary contact.
Primary Responsibilities
Media Clip Monitoring and Reporting
Use MuckRack, Google News, Meltwater, and other media monitoring services to gather, record, categorize, and share Oxfam America media clips with internal audiences.
Compile drafts of quarterly and annual reports of media clips; as needed, compile issue‑specific clip reports.
Maintain a master file media tracker including all media clips. Keep the tracker updated and well‑organized to sort and select media clips by theme, prominence, spokesperson, and outlet type.
In coordination with Media Relations Director, draft and disseminate a weekly clips report, through MuckRack, to highlight top‑tier clips to internal stakeholders.
Identify and upload top news clips to Oxfam America website.
Internal Reporting
Track and report on team goals and KPIs on a quarterly basis to ensure the team is meeting goals.
Provide analysis regarding the media landscape and Oxfam’s role in it by surfacing key trends and insights relevant to Oxfam’s work.
Manage media team’s contribution to division‑wide quarterly dashboard project.
In coordination with the PE division, produce daily and weekly internal reports chronicling major news moments, events, travel, outgoing press, outgoing social media messages, new blog posts, and other important external communications.
Media Research and Analysis
With media officers, create and maintain lists of media contacts in MuckRack.
Distribute news releases, media advisories, and other materials as needed to members of the media via MuckRack, and upload press releases to Oxfam America website.
Conduct research and media analyses to identify reporters, outlets, and potential topics for media outreach, including youth‑focused outlets that intersect with Oxfam’s engagement work and reporters who cover Oxfam’s issues.
Collaborate with Digital, Brand, and Content teams on web content and social media as needed.
Serve as a support and back‑up for media officers, pitching reporters and media outlets as needed.
Administrative Support
Set agendas for and manage daily and weekly media team meetings and monthly media/digital brainstorming meetings.
Develop and carry out orientations for new Media Relations staff, consultants, and interns.
Provide task assignment and performance feedback on media deliverables for PE intern.
Monitor and manage media team inbox; assist with and route all press inquiries and follow up as necessary.
Maintain all publications, subscriptions, and online memberships for the media team.
Maintain and organize media team Box folder and make all necessary documents available to the team.
Provide administrative support to Brand & Engagement initiatives, including Hunger Banquets, cultural events, volunteer activations, and partnership initiatives.
Assist with special projects and perform other reasonably related duties.
Participate in department and Media Team meetings as required.
Coordinate information needs within the department and respond to agency information requests.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience and Core Competencies
One to three years of relevant work experience in communications and/or media relations or in an administrative/coordinator role.
Proficiency with MS Office suite, notably Excel.
Interest and experience in media or social media.
Demonstrated capacity to see jobs to completion, set priorities among tasks, and engage in problem‑solving.
Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work.
Ability to work with a team that has multiple work sites.
