Job Summary

The Colleges of Liberal Arts & Sciences ( LAS ) seeks a skilled and versatile Content Writer to develop engaging, accurate, and audience-focused content that highlights the college’s academic programs, research, faculty expertise, and student experience. This role plays a key part in shaping the college’s voice across digital and print platforms. The Colleges of Liberal Arts & Sciences comprises of the Colleges of Humanities, Science, and Social and Behavioral Science. This position will join the LAS Marketing & Communications team.

Responsibilities

Write, edit and proofread a wide range of content including long-form articles, feature stories, newsletters, blog posts, and magazine articles.

Translate complex academic and research topics into clear, compelling narratives.

Collaborate with staff, faculty, and students to identify and develop story ideas.

Maintain consistency in tone, style and brand messaging across all communications.

Assist in content planning and editorial calendar management.

Conduct interviews and gather information to support storytelling initiatives.

Stay current on higher education trends and audience engagement strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communication or a related field.

4+ years of experience in professional writing or content creation (higher education experience preferred).

Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
