What We Need
We are looking for a Business Development Manager focused on Public Sector – State, Local, and Higher Education markets, supporting the Northeast markets. This role will develop, plan, and execute sales and marketing efforts to increase Public Sector market share.
What You Will Do
Prospect for potential public sector customers using direct methods such as calling and face‑to‑face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking through key industry contacts, influencers, and trade organizations.
Search, qualify, develop, and track sales leads for new business; drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sale in partnership with Public Sector qualified dealers.
Investigate and create awareness of all Public Sector business moves (lease expirations, consolidations, restacks, etc.).
Develop and maintain relationships with key influencers, dealer partners, public sector end users, and other HNI contacts/members.
Leverage contracts, agreements, BPAs, IDIQs and other procurement vehicles in creative ways to generate new revenue.
What You Have
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
3‑5 years’ experience in Public Sector sales preferred.
Knowledge of office environment issues and general business trends.
Ability to identify and positively influence key decision makers and influencers.
Strong communication and presentation skills, organization, and customer orientation.
Ability to successfully interact across business functions, from HNI HQ to field sales members and independent dealers.
Demonstrated ability to lead change, handle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
