Signal Centers is seeking a dynamic Marketing and Communications Specialist to help shape the voice and vision of Tennessee’s Child Care Resource & Referral Network!
The Marketing and Communications Specialist serves as a strategic partner to the Tennessee Child Care Resource and Referral program, supporting the planning and execution of statewide marketing initiatives.
This role is responsible for multi-faceted campaigns that span channels – including email, social media, web, and print. This specialist’s contribution is critical to delivering high-quality, compelling content that is aligned with organizational goals.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who has a knack for keeping track of deadlines and can easily toggle between multiple projects. They’re self-motivated with a true desire to move Signal Center’s mission forward through meaningful, high-impact communications.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in communications or marketing
Three to five years’ experience in this or related field
Excellent writing, content creation, project management, and communication skills
Experience creating marketing materials using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite within established brand guidelines
Demonstrable knowledge in digital marketing, including social media, content management systems, search engine optimization, and social analytics tools
Ability to travel an average of four weeks a year
Physical examination and record of negative TB test results
Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance

Responsibilities Under the supervision of the State Marketing Director, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will:
Strategic Marketing Execution Plan and execute marketing and communication campaigns across email, social media, web, and print
Translate program goals into clear messaging and audience-focused strategies
Ensure all deliverables align with CCR&R brand standards
Project & Workflow Management Manage marketing requests from intake through project completion
Coordinate timelines, approvals, and deliverables across multiple teams
Track progress and ensure projects are completed on time and with quality
Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Content Development & Storytelling Write, edit, and develop content for campaign assets, such as: Email campaigns and newsletters
Social media platforms
Website content
Printed materials
Design and produce visually engaging marketing materials that align with brand standards
Plan, capture, and edit basic photo and video content for storytelling initiatives
Collaborate on short-form and long-form video projects that highlight program impact
Travel as needed to capture content
Support development and execution of social media strategies
Plan and create quality content that meets goals
Monitor trends, engagement, and performance to inform improvements
Website & Digital Content Management Maintain TN CCR&R web properties, including content updates and edits
Ensure website content is accurate, accessible, and user-friendly
Upload, embed, and optimize multimedia to enhance user engagement and accessibility
Data, Analytics & Reporting Track and analyze campaign performance and effectiveness across marketing channels
Prepare reports and share insights to inform future strategies
Brand & Quality Control Ensure all materials meet brand standards, templates, and accessibility guidelines
Maintain consistency in messaging and visual identity
Provide guidance to teams on marketing best practices
Provide marketing support to assigned CCR&R teams
Collaborate among internal teams, including leadership
Support cross-functional initiatives and statewide campaigns
