This full‑time (40 hours per week) position, in compensation Pay Range D, pays from $45,489 to $63,677 annually, plus fringe benefits including healthcare, retirement with employer match, financial wellness program, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, and accrued time off. Starting wage is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The primary focus of this role is graphic design and communications for ACSET/West Michigan Works.

ACSET Overview
ACSET is the administrative and fiscal agent for the Michigan Works! Agency of Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon and Ottawa Counties. West Michigan Works! mission is to lead workforce development strategy and resource alignment in West Michigan.

Job Summary
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is a member of the team responsible for coordinating and carrying out marketing and communications activities for multiple brands under ACSET/West Michigan Works, including workforce development boards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Effectively communicate in person and through a variety of mediums to various internal and external audiences regarding the mission of ACSET/West Michigan Works and its brands.

Contribute to the development of, and coordinate, marketing and communications activities.

Plan and conduct internal and external events, and related activities.

Develop content for, and manage, multiple social media accounts.

Support organizational communication through intranet content management.

Create and maintain complex workflows, registration forms and applications in a variety of applications to support the organization's internal approval processes, and internal and external programs and events.

Write, proof, and edit business correspondence and copy for marketing and communications material such as promotional material, ads, electronic newsletters, text campaigns, press releases, etc.

Create content for, edit and maintain multiple websites.

Prepare routine and special reports and dashboards.

Create, edit and deploy electronic newsletters and text campaigns.

Design and edit static and animated graphic files for a variety of print and digital uses, including annual reports, program flyers, digital signs, social media, etc.

Coordinate in‑house and vendor printing, as well as the acquisition of promotional and other related items.

Monitor contracts and agreements.

Create and make presentations.

Create photos and videos, use related editing software and maintain a media library.

Attend in‑person and virtual professional development activities and represent the organization at community events.

Build relationships, locally and statewide, to enhance the ability of West Michigan Works to serve the residents of the counties we serve.

Actively participate in continuous quality improvement processes.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

Three to five years of experience working in marketing and communications, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Thorough knowledge of the principals and practical applications of marketing and communications work.

Demonstrated writing, user experience (UX/UI), website management, systems administration, graphic design, event planning, photography, videography, and/or social media account management skills for a brand.

Computer skills, with experience using Microsoft 365 products including Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel or SharePoint.

Demonstrated experience using applications such as photo or video editing tools, Adobe Creative Cloud, HootSuite, WordPress, MailChimp and/or Alchemer.

Mathematical ability to make moderately complex mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.

Ability to contribute to the preparation of marketing and communications plans, collateral and routine and special reports as required.

Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate in both oral and written form with prior public speaking experience.

Communication and problem‑solving skills that contribute to a quality work environment and the ability to work as a team.

Planning, organizational and project‑management skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, board members, state and local agencies and the general public.

Ability to maintain confidentiality while providing participant and business centered services.

Mental ability to work on projects requiring concentration and attention to detail.

Exceptional customer service skills and the mental ability to deal with concerns of vendors, participants, community members, employees, etc. with consideration and to the satisfaction of all parties.

Simultaneous handling of multiple projects is expected.

Physical ability to occasionally lift/carry/transport items weighing up to 25 pounds. Must periodically sit for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment with little discomfort due to noise, dirt, dust and the like.

Local travel may occasionally be required.
