Advertising Outreach Specialist (Lead Gen) – Atlanta Magazine
Job description:

The Advertising Outreach Specialist serves an important role in creating a high level of sales activity (lead generation and qualification) for the advertising sales team. This position is advertising sales focused (including print, digital, sponsorships and new initiatives), client facing and supports the various selling activities of the advertising sales team on a local and national level. This position is integral in allowing the sales team to increase efficiency and productivity with the objective of driving and increasing revenue through print and digital advertising sales, sponsorship sales, and custom publishing projects. This position serves as an entry level and development opportunity for anyone desiring to grow into a media account executive sales position.

Education/Experience:

College degree preferred with BA in preferably in Marketing, Business, Sales or Advertising considered a plus.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Generate qualified leads for the advertising account executives

Must be comfortable with cold call outreach, and excel at verbal and written communication

Achieve a high volume of outbound telephone calls, custom emails, texts and social media outreach in order to maintain a pipeline of qualified leads

Coordinate meetings for the account executives

Serve as the first point of contact for inbound leads

Data entry, Microsoft Excel skills and Google Drive capabilities are a must

Create and maintain databases of target account lists

Track sales prospects through the full sales cycle

Fulfill various client requests as needed and deliver superior customer service

Attend industry networking events, representing the magazine and its portfolio of products/services

Prospect and cultivate leads into long-term clientele and create/manage prospecting lists

Attend, support and assist with all magazine related events

Actively participate in marketing and sales meetings and assist where necessary

Assist in managing sales CRM, various Google Drives and Excel Docs in order to keep active prospect lists current, up-to-date and organized

Support the sales team with lead gen and outreach, as well as the publisher as needed on a daily/weekly basis

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline oriented and goal-oriented sales environment

Successful candidates will possess the following skills/abilities:

A self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-pace environment

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through

Outstanding oral and written communication skills and ability to work well with others

Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Suite

Capable of analyzing and understanding sales data and research

Proven ability to present and communicate effectively

Must be outgoing, organized, efficient, team player and a strategic thinker

Eager to learn and grow in the position

Keen understanding of Atlanta, the business community and/or the marketing and advertising landscape is a plus

Experience with media sales is a plus, or positions where face-to-face client interaction and communication were key requirements of the job
