*** is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Senior Studio Engineer to bridge creative design and engineering, transforming early-stage concepts into functional, production-ready vehicles.

In this role, you'll play a key part in the concept phase by developing technical inputs from scratch and ensuring designs meet high standards of safety, performance, and manufacturability. You'll work closely with Industrial Design, Engineering, and Digital Modeling teams to balance aesthetics with feasibility and ensure seamless collaboration across disciplines.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in early-phase vehicle development, is fluent in CATIA V6 and 3DX (3DEXPERIENCE), and thrives in an ambiguous, fast-evolving environment. You're hands-on, technically sharp, and proactive in shaping innovative design solutions.

s a Senior Studio Engineer, you'll:
Lead the concept development of new vehicle platforms, ensuring technical feasibility and innovative design alignment.
Independently create CAD studies and feasibility analyses to support industrial design exploration.
Establish and maintain engineering criteria that balance design intent and manufacturability.
Collaborate across studio, modeling, and engineering teams to review designs, resolve issues, and ensure aesthetic and technical compliance.
Support studio modeling activities and oversee surface development, mock-ups, and prototype creation.
Manage and release criteria-compliant surface data and track design and engineering issues throughout program milestones.

Candidates shifting from different CAD software will take too long to ramp up, time they don't have. Someone with CATIAV5 but with strong experience in the concept phase Good candidates came from General Motors This role will be providing Engineering input to the existing designers Need to be able to develop technical inputs from scratch Someone familiar with developing a new vehicle platform is ideal.
DAILY TASKS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Play a central role in the concept phase development of new platforms, ensuring technical feasibility and design innovation. Independently generate CAD studies with minimal engineering input to enable the Industrial Design team to explore new possibilities with a reasonable level of feasibility analysis. Enable Studio Designs through balanced and optimal engineering solutions. Establish and balance Engineering Criteria to support Studio Design intent. Support Studio Modeling activities, including creating model set-ups and armatures. Interface with Industrial Design, Engineering, and the Digital Modeling Groups to ensure criteria and aesthetic compliance. Support/lead technical reviews and organize meetings to resolve daily working issues. Represent the Studio in all relevant meetings, generating and presenting necessary documentation. Check surface development against criteria and develop alternative solutions to support the Design Theme. Release criteria-compliant surface data based on Studio & Engineering agreements, adhering to program schedules. Verify and release production-intent, design/engineering-compliant math data from surfacing groups. Maintain a tracking list pertaining to surface development, Engineering, and Design issues. Facilitate the creation of Bucks, mock-ups, and rapid prototype parts. Responsible for the status of assigned parts at specific program gates.
REQUIRED SKILLS
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor of Science Technical Degree (4 Year Degree) - Minimum 5 years studio experience with min 8 years' experience in a related area of work, with a strong track record of working in the concept development phase for new vehicle platforms. - Proven ability to autonomously create early-stage CAD studies and feasibility analyses with limited engineering input. - Understanding of engineering theory and principles of automotive design - Proficient oral and written communication skills, Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint - Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with others - General interest and ability to integrate complex systems. - Familiarity with general automotive manufacturing processes -Demonstrated, mandatory proficiency in CATIA V6 and 3DX (3DEXPERIENCE) software.
