POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director, People (Chief Human Resources Officer) is a senior management role responsible for modernising, leading and delivering BTVI’s human resource strategy, systems and people development agenda.
The Director will lead the transition from manual HR processes to a fully digitised, data-driven HR environment, while strengthening workforce capability through structured training, performance management recognition systems and industrial relations and other HR matters.
This role ensures that BTVI attracts, develops and retains a high‑performing workforce aligned with institutional priorities, while maintaining compliance, operational efficiency and a positive employee experience.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field
Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD or equivalent) strongly preferred
Master’s Degree is an asset
Experience
Minimum of 7‑10 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles
Proven experience implementing HR systems and digital transformation initiatives
Demonstrated experience in:
Talent management and workforce development
Performance management systems
Policy development and compliance
Experience in an educational or public sector environment is an asset
Skills and Competencies
Strong technical proficiency in HR systems and digital tools
Ability to lead organisational change and process improvement
Excellent writing, communication and policy development skills
Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making ability
High level of professional judgment, confidentiality and integrity
Ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the organisation
Strong organisational and project management skills
