Position Summary The Business Development Manager / Key Account Sales – US West is responsible for driving commercial growth, expanding market presence, and managing strategic customer relationships across the Western United States and selected Central US territories. This role is highly field-facing and relationship-driven, combining business development, key account management, market positioning, and internal coordination. The Business Development Manager will manage the full sales lifecycle, represent PreciPoint at customer sites and industry events, and act as the primary commercial and technical liaison between customers and internal teams. The role works closely with global Business Development, Marketing, Operations, and Leadership teams to position PreciPoint as a trusted technology partner within the Biopharmaceutical, MedTech, and Research markets.
Requirements
Business Development & Sales
Actively generate new business leads through conferences, tradeshows, vendor events, customer visits, and regional outreach
Manage the full sales cycle from lead qualification through contract negotiation and closing
Establish and expand business development contacts across assigned territories
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and strategic customers
Achieve defined sales targets and revenue growth objectives
Represent PreciPoint professionally at industry events and customer engagements
Key Account Management & Customer Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts and strategic customers
Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term customer relationships
Ensure high-quality and timely communication with new and existing customers
Act as first-line support for commercial inquiries and basic technical questions
Coordinate internally on customer-related matters including trials, service, quality, warranty, and repair topics
Marketing & Market Positioning
Contribute to the development and execution of regional business development and marketing strategies
Position PreciPoint's digital pathology and microscopy solutions within the Biopharmaceutical, MedTech Healthcare, and Research markets
Support the creation of marketing and sales materials, including: Website and social media content Brochures and sales collateral Press releases and conference-related communications
Participate in conferences and industry events as a speaker or exhibitor when appropriate
Strategic Collaboration & Market Intelligence
Plan and execute strategic collaborations in coordination with the Director of Business Development and Chief Executive Officer
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and evolving customer needs
Provide structured market feedback, insights, and recommendations to leadership
Support global market sensing, development initiatives, and strategic planning efforts
Internal Coordination & Operational Support
Collaborate with internal line functions including finance, logistics, marketing, service, and warehouse teams
Support quality, consistency, and follow-through across sales, service, and repair-related processes
Assist with operational execution related to sales activities and customer satisfaction
Execute ad-hoc projects and tasks assigned by senior management
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Biology, Medical Science, Pharmacy, or a related field
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Consulting
Proven experience working with Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Medical customers
Strong understanding of the US Pharma and Biotech market
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Strong organizational, follow-up, and project management abilities
Ability to work independently in a remote, field-based role
Self-motivated, hands-on, and results-driven mindset
Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the United States and occasionally internationally
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or other advanced degree
Background in MedTech or Biotech industries
Experience with pathology, microscopy, digital diagnostics, or laboratory technologies
Existing network of academic, governmental, biotech, or pharmaceutical contacts in the US West
Experience contributing to marketing strategy and execution
Fluency in German (preferred but not required)
