Hello, copywriters! We’re looking for a concept-obsessed, strategically-minded mid–senior copywriter to join our team at THIS JANUARY. You’ll help lead big ideas and bring them to life across brands from retail to airlines to CPG and more. Day-to-day deliverables will range from campaign territories and film scripts to social copy, and everything in between.
We’re a small agency that’s more interested in finding a person that’s the right fit, rather than a person with the perfect resume. In general, the best candidate for us will have 3–8 years of experience writing in an agency or brand setting.
The right candidate will have agency experience as a conceptual copywriter.
We'd like to start this role as a 3-month contract, with the intent to hire full-time if everything goes well.
We’re looking for someone who —
Has agency experience as a copywriter
Has a portfolio that shows big brand platforms and executional/tactical work (OOH, TVC scripts, social)
Can take a brief, find the real problem, and turn it into a handful of surprising territories
Is as comfortable writing a manifesto as they are a subject line, CTA, or TikTok script
Is confident presenting work — in the room, on Zoom, and in a deck — in a way that’s as compelling as the work itself
Can partner closely with design, strategy, and account teams to make the work sharper
Are confident multi-tasking across multiple projects and clients
Flourishes in a small team environment through both self-direction and co-working
Bonus points if you —
Are comfortable mentoring junior writers and giving clear, constructive feedback
Have strategy chops or a passion for strategy-style thinking
You’ll be doing things like —
Concepting for campaign platforms, brand stories, and ideas across mediums
Writing scripts for film, OLV, social, and radio
Crafting copy for OOH, digital, social content, and experiential
Helping shape brand voices and messaging frameworks across channels

Quick facts About This January —
We have a killer, dog-friendly office on 14th Street/Logan Circle
We work in‑person at the office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (we WFH Weds/Friday)
We have healthcare and vacation days, it’s all pretty standard
One thing that’s non-standard is we close the office for 3 weeks per year, so that we’re 100% sure everyone gets a break
