Introduction
With headquarters in Tromsø, Norway, Kongsberg Satellite Services AS (KSAT) supplies ground station services for satellite communications. KSAT is the world’s largest supplier of telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) and data acquisition services for non-geostationary satellites. Founded in 1968, KSAT has grown to over 450 employees with an annual revenue of approximately $200M. About 50% of KSAT’s annual revenue comes from the US. The wholly owned subsidiary KSAT Inc. (aka. KSAT USA) is located in Denver, Colorado and is rapidly growing in response to strong US Government and industry demand for commercial ground segment services. As a result of KSAT’s continued growth in the US, more critical talent is needed.
Overview
The Marketing Manager will lead strategy, content development, and campaign execution for an organization delivering ground‑station network services, satellite operations, and Earth observation data products. This role is responsible for communicating the value of highly technical, mission‑critical systems to government, defense, commercial satellite operators, and geospatial end‑users worldwide. The ideal candidate combines marketing excellence with an understanding of satellite communications, mission operations workflows, and Earth‑observation applications.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Positioning
Develop and execute marketing strategies that advance the company’s position across:

Global ground‑station networks

(LEO/MEO/HEO support, scheduling, TT&C, data downlinking)
Satellite mission‑operations services

(commanding, scheduling, automation, analytics)
Earth observation data & value‑added geospatial services

(imagery, analytics, tasking)

Create messaging frameworks that articulate differentiated strengths:

Global coverage and availability
Low‑latency data delivery and high data‑throughput
Mission‑operations reliability and advanced automation
Scalability and cloud integration
High‑quality EO data and real‑time monitoring capabilities

Collaborate with business development and product teams to align marketing goals with revenue targets, RFP activity, contract awards, and new mission demands.
Campaign Management & Content Creation
Develop integrated campaigns and messaging with key stakeholders around:

New ground‑station sites, antennas, or orbit‑specific coverage expansions
Mission‑operations platform enhancements or automation features
New EO data products, analytics capabilities, and customer use cases
Partner integrations and end‑to‑end mission‑support offerings

Develop relevant press releases and publish compelling technical content, such as:

Ground‑network coverage maps and performance dashboards
Satellite‑ops workflow overviews and system architecture diagrams
Data product sheets, sample imagery, and application briefs
Customer case studies highlighting real mission and analytics impact
Market‑focused white papers and thought‑leadership pieces

Ensure all assets communicate both the technical accuracy and mission relevance needed for aerospace and geospatial audiences.
Digital Marketing & Lead Generation
Manage the company’s digital presence that addresses the Campaign Management & Content Creation.
Optimize SEO/SEM to target audiences such as:

Commercial and government satellite operators
EO data consumers in agriculture, defense, maritime, energy, and climate sectors
Aerospace primes and systems integrators

Monitor analytics to refine messaging and improve lead quality across global markets.
Industry Engagement & Events
Lead marketing activities for conferences and events relevant to ground networks, mission operations, and EO, including:

SmallSat
Space Symposium
Satellite Conference & Exhibition
GEOINT
International Astronautical Congress (IAC)

Coordinate:

Executive speaking engagements
Technical presentations
White paper releases
Live demos of mission‑ops or EO platforms

Develop event strategies that emphasize technical capability, operational reliability, and customer success stories.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Support BD and sales through:

Targeted collateral
Proposal‑ready content
Mission‑specific capability briefs

Work with product teams to continuously refine positioning as capabilities evolve.
Work with different departments to ensure technical precision in all marketing materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Aerospace, Engineering, Geospatial Science, or related field
4–7+ years of marketing experience in aerospace, satellite communications, geospatial or related technical industries.
Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into compelling narratives.
Experience with digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with space systems, programs, and missions
Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and others.
Excellent technical writing and data‑visualization skills.
Experience marketing to government agencies (e.g., NASA, NOAA, DoD), commercial satellite operators, and geospatial intelligence customers.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment supporting complex global missions.
In-office attendance and Travel
Expectation is to be in office 4 out of 5 days of the work week.
Travel is expected to be up to 25%, with a combination of domestic and international destinations.
