Senior Technical Writer

Senior Technical Writer Blue Sky Innovative Solutions is seeking two Senior Technical Writers to support a federal civilian government safety organization. This role supports technical writing, editorial review, publication development, meeting facilitation, and full document lifecycle management. The ideal candidate has strong federal writing experience, experience managing structured review cycles, and the ability to guide subject matter experts (SMEs) through document development processes.
Key Responsibilities Develop and edit technical documents including:
Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)
Annual reports
Fact sheets
Newsletters
Operational communications
Facilitate in-person and virtual meetings: Create agendas
Capture minutes and decisions
Track action items

Manage document lifecycle from draft through final publication
Coordinate SME review cycles and adjudicate comments
Maintain SharePoint or collaborative tracking systems
Ensure Section 508 accessibility compliance
Format documents according to federal publication standards
Prepare deliverables for executive-level review
Support monthly reporting and project tracking requirements
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Journalism, Public Administration, or related field
7+ years professional technical writing experience
3+ years supporting federal government programs
Experience facilitating meetings and documenting formal minutes
Experience managing multi-stakeholder review cycles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
Experience with Adobe Acrobat or similar formatting tools
Experience ensuring Section 508 compliance
Strong attention to detail and editorial accuracy
U.S. Citizen
Eligible for Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Client, DoD, or operational federal environments
Experience producing executive-level publications or annual reports
Experience in safety, environmental, or risk management programs
PMP, CAPM, or project management training
Experience using workflow automation tools (Power Automate, task trackers)
