Role Summary
The Sr. Marketing Strategy Partner is an individual contributor responsible for shaping and advancing credit union marketing strategy to support market expansion and growth initiatives. The role partners closely with senior and chief-level leaders to inform strategic decision‑making through market insights, performance data, and member behavior analysis. It designs and evaluates test‑and‑learning pilots, assesses national market opportunities, and translates results into actionable recommendations that guide prioritization, investment, and scaling decisions.
What You Will Be Doing
Serve as a trusted strategic marketing partner to assigned business unit leaders, building deep understanding of priorities, growth opportunities, and business challenges.
Lead the development of integrated marketing and go‑to‑market strategies that align business objectives, member needs, and credit union growth goals, including market expansion.
Implement test‑and‑learn initiatives—design pilots, evaluate results, and translate learnings into strategic recommendations and scalable approaches.
Represent Marketing in business unit and strategic planning forums, providing insights and recommendations that influence prioritization, investment decisions, and long‑term direction.
Drive cross‑functional alignment across products, digital, operations, analytics and member experience teams to ensure cohesive strategy development and execution.
Translate market research, member insights, performance data, and competitive intelligence into clear strategic recommendations that inform positioning, campaign direction, and sequencing.
Establish success measures and evaluate marketing effectiveness across channels and markets, assessing impact against objectives and identifying optimization opportunities and future targets.
Partner closely with marketing analytics to ensure strategies are grounded in robust data, meaningful performance metrics, and business unit goals.
Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the AVP to ensure business unit marketing efforts are aligned, prioritized, and optimized.
Act as a subject matter expert for assigned products, services, and markets, continuously assessing competitive, economic, and regulatory dynamics and recommending strategic adjustments.
Develop and maintain strategic marketing plans, roadmaps, and executive‑ready reporting, ensuring alignment with credit union standards, brand strategy, and business unit goals.
Lead complex initiatives with limited supervision, managing scope, dependencies, stakeholder alignment and vendor or agency partners to deliver outcomes on time and within agreed parameters.
Coordinate with internal communication teams to ensure organizational awareness, alignment, and readiness around major marketing initiatives, pilots, and emerging market efforts.
About You
Demonstrated ability to lead strategic marketing planning and influence decisions at senior and executive levels through insight‑driven recommendations and executive‑ready communication.
Strong strategic and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex, ambiguous business challenges into clear, actionable marketing and go‑to‑market strategies.
Ability to exercise independent judgment, develop a point of view, and challenge assumptions to improve business and marketing decisions.
Proven capability to synthesize market research, performance data, and competitive intelligence into insights that guide prioritization, investment decisions, and optimization strategies.
Advanced proficiency in leveraging analytics and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness, inform test‑and‑learn initiatives, and shape future strategy in partnership with analytics teams.
Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills with experience delivering concise, credible recommendations to senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Deep understanding of member behavior, market dynamics, and growth strategies within financial services or similarly regulated environments, balancing innovation with risk and compliance considerations.
Strong strategic judgment, prioritization, and decision‑making skills in fast‑paced, evolving environments, including national or enterprise‑level initiatives.
Demonstrated success leading through influence rather than authority, aligning and guiding cross‑functional teams and external partners toward shared strategic outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Management, Communications, or related field; equivalent work experience may be substituted.
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in strategic marketing, go‑to‑market strategy, business‑line marketing, or enterprise marketing strategy roles; experience with market entry, expansion, or emerging market strategies is a plus.
Minimum three (3) years’ experience partnering with senior leaders (AVPs, VPs, executives, C‑Suite) and influencing strategic decisions, priorities, or investment outcomes through data‑driven recommendations.
Demonstrated experience managing and influencing agency and external partners to deliver on strategic program and campaign objectives, timelines, and performance expectations.
Experience supporting new digital products, platforms, or innovative growth models, including organizational adoption or pilot‑to‑scale transitions, is a plus.
Experience with CRM platforms and marketing automation software tools is strongly preferred.
Willingness to travel as required for business needs, strategic initiatives, and professional development.

Full Salary Range
Richland, WA: $83,450.81‑$139,084.69
Yakima, WA: $83,450.81‑$139,084.69
Renton, WA: $100,899.62‑$168,166.03
Lynnwood, WA: $94,830.47‑$158,050.78
While our full pay range is listed, most new team members typically start between the minimum and midpoint based on experience and qualifications. This approach provides room to grow within the role as your career progresses with us.
