The JP Marketing Media Team is seeking a Media Manager to develop and execute comprehensive media strategies for the Japanese market. In this role, you will manage multi‑channel media plans spanning digital, social, OOH, and traditional channels, partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external agency partners. You will leverage your analytical skills and deep understanding of the Japanese media landscape to translate business objectives into effective, data‑driven media strategies that optimize channel mix, audience targeting, and budget allocation across our campaigns.

As a Media Planner, you will analyze market trends, consumer insights, and campaign performance data to identify strategic opportunities while applying cultural and market‑specific nuances of the Japan market to enhance campaign effectiveness. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless campaign execution, manage media budgets for maximum impact, and build strong relationships with local and global agency partners. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment, and excellent communication abilities to present data‑driven recommendations and analyses to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and own multi‑channel (Linear TV, Online Video, Social, Audio, Print, Display, OOH, Cinema) media plans.

Monitor campaign performance and report results to the wider team and stakeholders.

Develop and present recommendations, evaluations, and media strategies to relevant stakeholders.

Build trustworthy relationships with internal business teams and agency partners.

Ensure smooth running of the business through strong coordination with the wider media team and global colleagues – aligning and sharing plans and activities.

Candidate Attributes

Have extensive experience in media strategy and media planning.

Have a solid understanding of the Japanese media landscape.

The JP Marketing team owns full‑funnel mass marketing communications for Amazon Japan. We plan, develop and execute integrated campaigns spanning TV, digital, social, OOH, and emerging channels while delivering data‑driven insights that inform strategic investment decisions. Our fast‑paced team thrives in a dynamic environment, partnering cross‑functionally to launch high‑impact communications that reach millions of customers across all of Japan.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of professional non‑internship marketing experience.

Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.

Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables).

Experience building and optimizing multiple, simultaneous marketing campaigns.

Experience managing or working within cross‑functional marketing and creative teams.

Experience delivering paid media campaigns spanning TV, print ads and digital/social channels.

Experience across affiliate marketing, PPC, SEM and social media advertising.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in multi‑territory campaign management.

Experience in digital marketing and content production timelines and process.
