This role is primarily responsible for generating business insights to enhance the performance of Syneos Deployment Solutions including promotional, market access and medical teams. The Director, Commercial Analytics & Insights drives business information acquisition, analysis design and execution, as well as reporting and visualization. The director acts as an analytics strategy lead and will oversee a team of analysts and managers in creating actionable insights via ad‑hoc and proactive analyses, in addition to recurring reports and dashboards for internal and client stakeholders. This also includes measuring the impact and effectiveness of Deployment Solutions teams and ongoing reports (e.g., weekly, monthly, QBRs) to achieve business objectives. Acts as point person for timing and quality in delivery of all such reports and insights. This role also develops and provides training to junior team members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Client‑facing lead for analytics and reporting services from pre‑implementation to project shut down, including gathering specifications for metrics and KPIs, report generation, developing and maintaining timelines, working with managers to assign resources, QC, and executing insight generation activities.
  • Act as a strategic advisor providing direction and executing analytics projects; oversee quality control functions on all deliverables including standard and ad‑hoc reports.
  • Lead design of new reporting and analytics initiatives incorporating advanced methods such as machine learning.
  • Oversee and aid business analyst and manager development.
  • Lead team to generate insights on Syneos team impact, effectiveness, activities, trends, and projections regarding performance, efficiencies, and possible improvements.
  • Train analyst team to express business value of insights and reports for both internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Prepare and communicate detailed process workflow plan that describes inputs, execution steps, and output.
  • Apply analytics and insight generation to Medical Affairs and MSL teams, including evaluation of field engagement activity and effectiveness.
  • Support development of stakeholder engagement strategies (e.g., KOL identification and prioritization) through data‑driven insights.
  • Incorporate qualitative field insights from MSL interactions into broader analyses to identify trends, risks, and strategic opportunities.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative area (e.g., statistics, data science) or related field.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in analysis design and execution of U.S. pharmaceutical commercial analytics and reporting projects.
  • 5+ years managing teams.
  • Experience translating analysis findings to actionable insights for at least one of pharmaceutical commercial, market access or clinical education, ideally with a mix of sales teams, clinical educators, medical affairs, and market access teams.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and quantitative skills using SQL, Python, R, SAS, and Excel power user.
  • Good knowledge of CRM systems including Salesforce.com and Veeva.
  • Experience with visual analytics platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik and pharma datasets.
  • Ability to communicate analysis findings effectively with National Business Directors and clients across functions such as sales management, medical affairs, market access, managed care, and brand teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, work under deadlines, manage customer expectations and execute timely deliverables.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.

Preferred

  • Understanding of emerging digital trends in pharmaceutical field team deployment solutions.
  • Experience in analysis of omnichannel programs.

Salary

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $178,000.
