This is a high-impact, time-sensitive contract opportunity supporting one of the automotive industry's most respected multi-brand marketing organizations. You'll work directly with an experienced marketing leader who brings deep expertise in brand strategy, content, cross-functional leadership, and regulatory compliance and you'll have real guidance and structure throughout the engagement.
The primary focus is a compliance audit tied to California's Delete Act (SB 362), with an August 1, 2026 deadline. You'll also pitch in on general marketing support tasks, making this a great fit for someone who likes varied, meaningful work within a well-run organization.
Primary Focus: California SB 362 Compliance Content Audit
California's Delete Act requires Clientregistered as the data entity, not individual brandsto ensure no public-facing content implies cross-brand data sharing at the brand level. Any such language creates significant legal and financial risk. You'll be the boots-on-the-ground resource driving this audit to completion.
Audit brand websites (Autotrader, KBB, Dealer.com, VinSolutions) for non-compliant data language, starting with highest-visibility pages
Extend the audit to Seismic, SharePoint, sales collateral, emails, and other public or sales-facing materials
Document flagged content in a clear, organized tracker using a noting platform, asset type, and risk level
Work with legal guidance to validate and prioritize remediation of flagged language
Rewrite or recommend compliant messaging that correctly attributes data practices to Cox Automotive as the entity
Support development of a brief training resource and boilerplate language for internal sales teams
Contribute to regular status updates and milestone tracking against the project Gantt
Secondary Scope: General Marketing Support
Assist with copywriting, editing, and proofing of marketing content across brands
Support content organization, asset management, and maintaining accuracy across marketing repositories
Help coordinate campaign materials, editorial timelines, and internal communications as needed
Contribute to sales enablement assets including talking points, one-pagers, and digital collateral
What We're Looking For
Content auditing or content strategy experience: ability to read marketing materials critically and identify messaging gaps or risks
Strong writing and editing skills: comfortable rewriting copy to meet compliance or brand standards
Detail-oriented and organized: able to manage a multi-platform audit across hundreds of assets on a deadline-driven schedule
Familiarity with marketing platforms: experience with content management systems, Seismic, SharePoint, or similar tools is a plus
Marketing foundation: understanding of B2B or brand marketing principles, content types, and how messaging flows through an organization
Self-starter: able to work independently, ask smart questions, and elevate issues with clarity
