Technical Writer
collects, extracts, organizes and assembles information and prepares drafts of test plans, procedures, and reports, and other assigned documentation tasks for engineering review.
Responsibilities:
Performs any research necessary to complete assigned documentation tasks.
Coordinate documentation with task managers and engineers as necessary.
Check for strict compliance with MIL-Spec requirements.
Oversee all phases of the production of the assigned document, including formatting, images, graphs, typing and reproduction, and may be required to provide rough illustrations with a high attention to detail.
Estimate man hour requirements to accomplish assigned tasks.
May be required to direct lower-level Technical Writers in the performance of their work assignments.
Support internal in-process quality reviews, final reviews, and in-process reviews of written documentation
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering or technology preferred.
1 to 3 years of technical writing experience.Must possess technical and administrative writing skills.
Ability to analyze engineering/technical data and draw conclusions.
Ability to interact effectively and efficiently with peers, customers, and management, both internal and external to the organization.
Must understand SDRL submittal and data management process
Must be proficient in MS software including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or English, or other related discipline.
