Job Title: Marketing Operations Coordinator
The Opportunity

The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in driving ticket sales, growing audiences, and bringing the Charleston Symphony’s new and vibrant brand to life. This role blends together a range of responsibilities including campaign execution, audience data strategy, and marketing operations, contributing directly to more than $2M in annual ticket revenue. Working within an agile and collaborative team, this position offers hands‑on experience across all areas of marketing, from CRM and budgeting to partnerships and content, making it an ideal opportunity for someone eager to build a well‑rounded marketing career in a fast‑growing and service‑oriented organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing Operations & Campaign Execution

Support and implement subscription and single‑ticket campaigns in alignment with revenue goals and marketing strategy

Coordinate campaign timelines, deliverables, and cross‑channel execution to ensure consistency and timeliness

Maintain and track the marketing content calendar across all platforms

Support grassroots marketing initiatives and identify opportunities to grow group sales and community presence

Coordinate cross‑promotional partnerships to expand brand visibility and audience reach

Manage relationships with marketing vendors, including invoice processing and budget tracking

Maintain updated marketing budget to ensure accurate tracking of campaign expenses

Provide on‑site support for concerts and represent the CSO at community events

Audience Data and CRM Strategy

Serve as a key resource for patron data, audience insights, and reporting needs

Generate and analyze ticketing reports to support data‑driven decision‑making

Assist in audience segmentation strategies to enhance campaign targeting and effectiveness

Maintain and update patron records, email lists, and mailing databases

Manage CRM tools and analytics platforms to support audience growth and retention

Provide ticket sales and patron support as needed

Communications and Content Coordination

Coordinate logistics for photo and video shoots, ensuring alignment with campaign and branding needs

Support media relations efforts, including press release development and outreach coordination

Research and develop written content related to programming, artists, and organizational initiatives

Assist in the execution of email marketing campaigns

Collaborate on social media scheduling and content execution with the Marketing & Design Manager

Support website updates and digital content publishing

Deliver excellent customer service through patron communications across multiple channels

Team Support and Cross‑Department Collaboration

Partner with internal departments to support marketing needs across performances, education, and community engagement initiatives

Provide administrative and operational support to the Director of Marketing as needed

Contribute to a collaborative, agile team environment focused on achieving organizational goals

Take on additional projects and responsibilities in support of the CSO’s growth and evolving marketing strategy

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Communications, Arts Management, or related field)

Previous work experience in the performing arts or nonprofit sector is preferred

Experience with CRMs (Tessitura, PatronManager, Spektrix, Salesforce, etc.) and/or database management

Comfortable with data analysis and reporting

Experience with website management is a plus (WordPress, CraftCMS)

Extremely strong organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects at once

Curious, and a creative thinker

A flexible team player who can also work independently

Availability and enthusiasm to work evenings/weekends as needed

A passion for the performing arts and an understanding of classical music is essential!
