The Capitol Forum is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our growing sales team. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for prospecting, developing, and closing new business within a designated territory. This will involve promoting and selling our suite of products with the overall goal of achieving demanding but realistic targets.

Position and Key Responsibilities

Execute the firm’s sales strategy by driving new clients and maintaining existing clients brought on board.

Proactively self-generate new leads through cold calling, email outreach, and prospecting.

Achieve assigned territory revenue goals.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of The Capitol Forum’s products and value proposition.

Engage inbound leads from marketing campaigns, conferences, and inquiries.

Build and maintain a robust prospective client pipeline.

Conduct meetings, trials, and product demonstrations with prospects.

Maintain accurate sales activity reports and forecasts.

Collaborate with internal teams to support growth initiatives.

Qualifications / Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

2+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in information, research, or media services.

Strong client-facing communication skills; comfort discussing complex subject matter.

Proven ability to generate and close new business independently.

Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills.

Enthusiastic, driven, and highly self-motivated.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary: $75,000–$85,000, depending on experience, plus uncapped commission.
